I recently discovered an unlisted spike head on a 1953D and now I may have found another slightly earlier spike on this coin. This die crack is in an unusual position and I believe travels to the collar area although its difficult to make out past the lapel.

Nice, but not exactly a "spike head".

Nice die crack through the shoulder. While I'm still breathing, I cannot call it a spike head. Sorry. Make me do push-ups.

A "spike head" is nothing more than a die crack with an " ebay name title"...IMHO.

Well, I'm in the camp that believes the original site attributing these have provided a definition.

I'm not sure it gets much clearer than that.

With all that aside, it appears at first glance there's a die chip on the left wheat stalk.

Just to be clear. I have little interest in spike heads although I think I have one or two in my collection/hoard.I place SH in the same category as the floating roof and missing FG cents.
A die crack needs to be fairly prominent to peek my interests. That said, collect what you like, and I will collect what I like.
