I really like the flowing hair design. The mint is issuing a one ounce silver medal with similar design to the halves and dollars minted in 1794 and 1795. I will probably buy one but I'm a little put off by the $104 price tag. I have not bought a medal from the mint since 1976 and it's still worth about what I paid for it in 1976.
Do medals have any mintage limits? Do any of them ever appreciate in value or are they just worth melt value plus a couple bucks? I will probably go ahead and buy one anyway but I'd rather pay $60 than $104. Any US Mint medal collectors out there?

Many medallions do have announced mintage limits, but not all.

Some modern medallions announce a mintage deadline date but that doesn't help in estimating the number struck.

Many British and French historical medallions have a value far in excess of their metal value, and most cost a multiple of their metal value when issued.

I generally wait for medallions to enter the secondary market before considering buying, because they usually sell for less than the mint's price. That may take several years, and it's possible that you never see it in the secondary market.

As of this moment, I plan to get one. The price really stings, especially when I remember paying less for four silver Kennedy half dollars ten years ago. I also remember buying five different Liberty medals for under $260 in 2017—so the Liberty medal price has doubled in seven years.

I bought this from the Intaglio mint earlier this year for just over $60 for 2 ounces of silver. This will suffice for me. I would be all in if it was an actual coin.

Nope - I'm not interested in any purchase from the Mint at release prices.

With some notable exceptions almost all of their production can be found on the secondary resale market at lower cost.

It's a nice medal, but $104 is an absurd price and a definite no from me. I'm also not a fan of these "restrikes."

I like this one but will get one on the secondary market when it's cheaper. The latest mint pricing is not realistic considering that this isn't even a coin.

Was planning on buying one. Having second thoughts with it's $104 cost. Will watch for mintage limits, then decide.
