Mixed messages on this coin. I love it. Some say its face value very common coin- others say it's a staple of American history. Thoughts? What would this be worth optimistically?

Neither. The 1932-S is a better coin, being one of the key dates for the Washington quarters. It's worth significantly more than face value, but not spectacularly rare, either. Coin appears to be AU details, cleaned, and is heavily discounted because of the cleaning, which would value this coin somewhere around $75 or so.

The cleaning is a shame, nice coin otherwise. What error are you seeing?

That is a very nice coin, yes it has been cleaned which is not good but still in great shape, do not let it go cheap. If it has an error please tell us what you see and take out of 2x2 when taking pictures. Hopefully, we can help you and thanks for sharing your coin with us.l

On the matter of cleaning, I'd need to see the coin in-hand to offer an assessment--not really seeing anything given the images posted. That mint mark does look curious. Again, another thing to examine more closely.

That is an interesting point ratman though it's too hard to tell without a closeup.

Quote: Anybody ever suggest a possible added mm? That was my concern too because around the mm is virtually the only region on the coin that isn't blast white.

Who says a 32-S quarter is worth face value? Just make sure it isn't a "modified" mint mark coin.

Now that the glare is gone, (thanks for the new pictures) I can not say if it has been cleaned or not. Still wondering what you see as an error?
