This one looks like a Greaser. The date and liberty are missing definition similar to a Greaser. After photographing the coin, and upon closer inspection, I noticed the "4" in 1994 is duplicated, RAISED and shifted well to the southeast. This is very clear in the B&W and color close up photos. The shift is significant and far beyond any Machine Doubling I've seen before. Not sure what is causing this phenomenon. Could it be hardened grease on the die with an image of 4? Any ideas? Grease issue, split plating on the mint mark. Would need to examine the coin in-hand to get a better sense for the date observation.

nice Greaser for sure, not sure about the 4, but extreme split plating on the MM.

Yes, this is a case of grease-mold doubling. This extends backward by a year the phenomenon. Is it okay if I use your images for a Collectors' Clearinghouse column?

You're welcome, NY Islander. Mike is wondering if it's okay to use your images for a Collectors' Clearinghouse column.

Wondering how the die fill being struck into the coin would leave a raised digit and not an incuse one? John1

John1, the process underlying grease-mold doubling is unclear. As you imply, if the process was similar to a dropped filling, the number should be incuse. Perhaps a thin layer of "grease" is pushed out of the number recess and acts as a secondary recess. Why it shouldn't be completely flattened or act the same way as a thin plug of grease isn't clear.

From: https://www.error-ref.com/grease-mold-doubling/Quote: Definition: A form of raised doubling that develops in association with "grease strikes". In this form of doubling, die fill of a smooth consistency coats the die surface and fills its recesses. The die fill sets and becomes very stiff as it pounds against many planchets. The layer of die fill escapes from its recess, migrates onto the field, and is struck into a planchet, leaving a raised, slightly enlarged version of the adjacent normal design element.
I admit to being confused by this wording. The hardened die fill "migrates" (falls?) "...onto the field and is struck into the planchet... ." How does a hardened lump being stuck into a field make a raised element? I do not doubt what's being said, I am saying I cannot understand the process with the way I am interpreting the wording.
