Any of you guys/gals cancel subscriptions this year?
I canceled the reverse proof silver dollar set that I bought last year. I canceled the silver proof sets two years ago—bought the silver quarters on their own, grabbed the half dollars and dimes solo at the coin show, the rest are duplicates of the clad sets.

Picked up a 2022 UNC ASE at the sale. . it was 30% off the current "list price" of $91.00. Today's price was $3 less than the original issue price of $67.00. . .It's a bit of a risk as:

This product is part of our 2024 Special Sale. All sales during this special event are final, no returns will be permitted, and all products are sold "as is." The Government does not warrant the condition, quality, merchantability, marketability, or fitness of the purchased goods for any use or purpose.

2019 Silver Proof sets were marked down from $150 to $105. . .further evidence it doesn't pay to buy annual sets from the USM. American Eagle 2019 Gold Proof Four-Coin Sets sold out within the first 5 minutes. . .Listed price of $6,442.50 was marked down to $5,154.00.

I was rather surprised at the discounts, although I'm assuming all these items were returns that are defective in some way. Nevertheless, I rolled the dice and bought the Bush Coin and Medal Set for $17.50 since I missed out on that when it was released. I should have also ordered a roll of Innovation Dollars, which were only $1 above face value. Unfortunately I noticed that too late and they were sold out.

I cancelled my mint/uncirculated and proof set subscriptions last year. I've been buying one of each since 1999 but realized all I ever did with them was look at them and put them in a box in the basement. It was like "ok, look what I bought".

I'm trying to consolidate my collection down somewhat to what I consider the core - my 7070 and my Lincoln collection, spread across two 7100 albums, blue Whitman albums and Harris folders. I've also got some silver that I'm holding onto since it's easy to sell and some other mint single issues and random coins that I am keeping for now.

Some circumstances in life over the past couple of years have made me realize that your treasured possessions can be overwhelming to heirs. What do you keep, what do you sell, what's it worth, how do you sell it, donate it or throw it away?

So, I've sold off all my mint and proof sets as well as some other random stuff that I've acquired over the years that wasn't particularly meaningful to me. My wife's done the same. We've got a nice little ebay operation going!

It's kind of liberating in a way to take a bunch of stuff sitting in boxes in the basement and selling it to someone who will presumably get some joy from it. It's amazing what people collect sometimes.

Feels like a scratch & dent sale.

There was nothing that I desired, so my budget for the next coin show remains intact.

I can't believe they still have/had some 5-oz ATB coins. Incroyable!

If anyone needs a 2022 Uncirc ASE, $63.70 is a steal (considering direct from the mint) and they're still available.

Thanks, jbuck. Sending good thoughts your way as you and your community cope with Helene's aftermath.
