Well, get ready for different designs, shapes for 2026. One is a non-round in shape of Liberty Bell gold and silver......

It's certainly a new era when the US Mint is publicly considering topical coin shapes for new releases.

You don't suppose we're taking design cues from the Solomon Islands now?

Stuff like this isn't for everyone. I'm not a fan of the idea. It even took a while for me to warm up to the concave Apollo pieces, but I did get those.

Well, I did buy both Apollo 50th dollars (proof and uncirculated) and the half dollar set.

I suppose in time my interest may grow.

Looks like 2026 is going to be the jumping-off point for me, at least for moderns.

This mule has been beaten nearly to death. Perhaps if it was a silver coin, but another medal? Nah, I'll pass.
I've got this, anyway.

2026 going to be a crazy year. There will be a bunch of gold coins and medals, https://www.coinnews.net/2024/03/01...ns-revealed/ I think it has been discussed here before, but it does not make sense to redo the gold Mercury dime, Standing Liberty quarter, wlh, high relief St Gaudens. The gold 1804 may be very cool. Wish they did a series each year of proof previous types. Would be cool to be able to collect a dime each year starting with flowing hair, bust, standing lib, etc.

I hate the batman / wonder woman coins as well as the liberty bell shape. We are not the Cook or Solomon Islands. Guess we will soon see car and guitar shapes.

Seems like the mints are setting up " the collectibles " for us, The apparent New direction will gather a new generation of topics to celebrate, New shiny objects for Us to appreciate.

Seems I have seen a guitar made into a " coin ' ", forgot the year and reason, a few years ago. The newer direction Will have collector's Re-thinking going forward , at least for me.

I am Clearly @ My line in the sand, The mint's have taken the liberty of Up-charging for EVERY single series, Every single Presidential Medal, Every single subscription, For Every Single American Silver Eagle Too, My Always en-joyful Silver 1986 to Date Complete Set.

They have presented us with Outstanding , American coinage, Awesome Designs from Days gone bye Including All the Commemoratives that fuel parts of our passions, Beautiful representatives of Numismatic collectibles We all Love.

However I Will Not be partaking Anymore U S Mint orders, As Prior to this newer direction . I am frustrated they have seemingly " cast aside ", The supporting collectors. After soaking us dry financially in keeping up Our subscriptions, I am a ole school Numismatics collector, Since 1963 over 60 Years that Enjoys choosing and hunting for My collectibles that I choose, Then the Mint's do this Too. ( they took a new stance on obtaining their collectibles )

The Numismatic world Will collect what they will, Myself included, Best wishes to All who Collect, I Was Out Of Control with Numismatic Drunkenness .

It Could appear I am cutting off My nose to spite My face, ....
I have had the Pleasure of being the Ward for My collection fancy for decades, As noted prior, So now I sit and enjoy My shiny objects that have caught My eyes, With a Renewed interest of Enjoyment ...

As far as the Mints go, Enough is Enough !!!!!
