Adding pics from that auction to help move the conversation forward and preserve them for future educational purposes:

That stinks! If you look at the seller's negative feedback, he sold more fake coins as well.
Errers and Varietys.

We'll never know for sure but the shills behind the drive up will never pay, they will request a cancellation of the sale and the buyer will accept. ebay refunds all fees. The goal is simply to get that one 'sucker' to bite.

I my self would not buy an ungraded/un-slabbed Major Error coin on ebay in the first place, and having been selling antiques/jewelry on ebay for over 20 years, just because the auction shows as sold, doesn't mean some poor soul bought and paid 10 grand for that coin (I hope not). There are so many tricks that sellers use to rip people off, including fake sales.

One of the surest markers for fake copy coins is indistinct design detail. From the pics presented on my 24 inch screen monitor, that appears to be the case.

Wow.....the feedback says it all. If I decide to buy an expensive coin, I require the coin to be graded and in a slab before I will pull the trigger.

Can't prove it, but I suspect a dose of tomfoolery behind the 'sale'.
