Hi everyone!

Any idea if this is a 1941 S or D? From some angles, I'm sure it's one, then at other angles, I'm sure it's the other. Thank you for your help!

The top serif makes it look more like an S to me.

@wen, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @zur that this mintmark seems most like a letter S.

The top of the letter tells me it is an S

Yes, appears to be an S. Nice, well-circulated coin!

Looks like one I would stick reverse side showing in the 1941S slot my album/folder so that I know I need to replace it with a better example with a "no doubt S". (That's my method)

I feel it may be a D with damage...the damage/ 2 gouges to the branches above leads me to that conclusion.

To CCF! Could be a D mint mark with damage.

Thanks for the welcomes and sharing your opinions!

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused. Before posting, I searched for a d/s or s/d possibility, but I couldn't find any for this year, and other years I did find good photos of had results that were much clearer.

Thanks again!

The coin definitely took some circulation damage that distorted the mint mark.

I'm going with S.

From these photos it's really just a guessing game "D" or "S".
Will need much clearer/in focus close-up pics to be sure.

I found the post about a light ring (thank you!) and got much better pictures with that. Definitely an S.

Those are better pics (in focus) but still very small..
does look like an "S" mint mark however.
