I just pulled these coins out of the same tube! How improbable is that? I would have missed "Stage A" if it wasn't for that broken B post which made me stop and check the cull stack again. The skull crack helped too in connecting the dots. Going off that broken post, although 57D has a ton of them, I don't believe this one is listed. A find like this makes me appreciate BIE's more although editing 24 photo files for CoC (plus a few more here) was work.      |

It does make me wonder how many coins where struck in between each one of those different stages.

There have been a few BIE's presented like the first image here. Could we call the first one a "Pre-BIE" and the piece of the die had not dropped out yet?
This is a good indicator of them forming.

Super! Finding multiple versions in a single roll shows how quickly these develop. A roll is probably taken from a large bag, so these probably happened within 2k strikes or so. I liked it so much I made an animation from the 3 photos. Couldn't do all I normally do given the very tight size requirements though...  |
