Received my "verify your U.S. Mint account information" email today for the Silver Proof Set.
$150. Ouch.
I will definitely stick around for the 2026 Silver Proof Set as well given the special designs we'll be treated to but after that I will probably have to bail on the series with these prices.

With a silver proof set collection dating back to 1950 I will continue to add the silver proof sets to my collection. I may give up on the plethora of American silver eagles with all the privy marks first.

I threw in the towel last year for collecting the Annual Sets (Uncirculated, Proof & Silver Proof) but....they lured me back in with the cancelling production of the penny and the special designs for the 250th next year. Sometimes I feel like such a sucker!

I received the same notice and am subscribed to one. I do not get the Limited Edition set given the price and the fact that between this set and the silver eagle proof I have all the coins anyhow. I do have all of these back to 1992, as well as the 1955-1964 proof sets of silver (and all the regular proof sets 1968-2025 as well). The price is steep, so I continue with just one.

The last time silver sniffed this high was 14 years ago. I just checked my records and, lucky for me, in the 15 years since I've been buying silver (both numismatically and stacking-ly), I'm in the black overall even with U.S. Mint prices. The huge gains in silver in the past several months have contributed to that. (No, I am not retiring, it's not THAT much money; this is a hobby after all... )

I stopped collecting the annual silver sets after ATB. I'm only buying this one because it's supposedly the last year for the Kennedy half dollar. That said, still saying ouch at the price.

From the US Mint website: Quote: In place of the image of President John F. Kennedy and the Presidential Coat of Arms, the 2026 half dollar will feature new designs celebrating our Nation's 250th anniversary. A John F. Kennedy design will return to the half dollar in 2027. Will the 2026 half dollars command a premium ?

Quote: Will the 2026 half dollars command a premium ? It will most likely all depend on the final mintage figures for the coin.. My guess is that mintage totals for the 250th Anniversary coins will be quite high and most will have a future market value in line with the US Bicentennial pieces (i.e., relatively low). Of course, that's just my opinion. Others might think differently.
