@lady, this is a really nice example of Machine Doubling. For whatever reason, this date/mint combo tends to have a lot of these.

Yes, classic machine doubling--not uncommon with '69 S memorial cents.

The folks on here are great with sharing their experience, and giving informational recommendations.
