Anyone think this might squeak out a VF? Wondering if the rim bruises would detail it.

I think this would grade VF straight. I don't think the rim bruises are bad enough to detail it.

I like the light circulation cameo.

If genuine, low VF seems about right. Do you have an accurate weight on it? The date position doesn't look quite right.

Thx for questioning authenticity Zurie, never even considered it being a fake. Date seems to match a couple of the images shown on PCGS. Don't know anything about Morgans, dies, and pairs to correctly access but weight seems valid for tolerance and wear.

The weight seems acceptable for the amount of wear. The mintmark looks spot on, but I couldn't find a 1903-S with an exact match for the date position, including various VAMs. The difference is subtle, and maybe it's just a different obverse die. Looks good otherwise, and I don't think the minor rim bumps are a problem.

Nice circulated Morgan but I think it's going to be stuck at F15.

The coin is almost certainly genuine. I'm not sure of the exact VAM, but here is an example I found on Coinfacts that appears to match the date and mintmark positions: As for the grade, I think the Obverse looks VF20 and the Reverse looks F15. I think it straight grades but taking the rim dings into account it's an F15 for me.

It looks genuine to me. Not seeing any of the usual red flags.

Yes, that PCGS coin is an exact match! The coin looked genuine to me, but I couldn't find a VAM to match, and there are only a handful of die pairs for that date. Maybe just a VAM-1. Anyway, glad we can put authenticity to rest.

On the 1903 S there were three obverse dies used 1112 1, 1112 2, 1112 3 and there are 9 known VAM'S. VAM 7 a slanted date used the 1112 2 die. VAM 6 used the 1112 3 die, and the 903 of the date shows in the denticles. All other VAM's used the 1112 1 obverse die. The OP coin would have to be a 1112 1 die. Note the position of the denticles below the zero in the date. OP Example directly below: VAM 4 Date Position - 1112 1 obverse die VAM 8 Date Position - 1112 1 obverse die Genuine example unknown VAM PCGS Genuine Example unknown VAM The PCGS example does appear to be a match. This date position does not show up on the VAM site.

Slider - all due respect - I think you are incorrect. You would need to account for the rim hit which likely shifts the denticle alignment a bit. If you go end to end with a line it is a perfect alignment to the PCGS image from Unimpossible. EDIT TO ADD - I guess you edited your post while I was uploading this. It does match this die IMO.
