What is wrong with the rim? Is this post mint damage? TIA on your expert assessments.

I'm thinking PMD. Maybe damage from acid?

Acid wouldn't push metal over the edge and would eat away at the copper - thinking it's just some kind of "hammering/pounding" damage causing metal movement.

Obverse rim flattened in some way causing a "roll over" onto the reeded edge....in other words just PMD...safe to spend

yep, I'm with Greasy on this one - the obverse rim is too fat from circulation or manual flattening by hammer.
