So, being still very green to collecting, I look to the experience within this forum to help me identify markings that may indicate doubling, probably Machine Doubling if at all, and to maybe advise on what may have caused lines around the top of Lincoln's head that appear maybe to be both incuse and raised in different areas.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Those are some serious die cracks through Abe's head!

There could be some Machine Doubling there, but the doubling that extends toward the rim is more likely Die Deterioration Doubling.

In the future, please do not post photos of scope screens. Use the memory card or a USB cable to transfer images.

Yes, yes, yes. It's a poor man's doubled die. Do love that cracked skull. I have a few hundred of these--various looks and presentations, but they are kinda cool.

This would be one of the better cracked skulls on a nicer coin. It should be listed on cudsoncoins as E&V stated.

Fun find with lots going on. Beyond what others have pointed out, there is also a die clash at Abe's neck and possibly Feeder Finger Damage under the bust. Not for sure about the Feeder Finger Damage though. Maybe a closeup of that area if possible.

ADDED. Here is a link to what I am referring to.

Thank you for all the great information just about everyone provided. It definitely shed light on my questions.

And I do apologize jbuck for the pics of the scope screens. Unsuccessful in finding any one of like three memory cards I have lurking around, I unwillingly used the pics as I hoped to provide better close up images than my phone camera could provide. I will definitely use a memory card with any future uploads.

Thanks again to everyone for your helpful insights.

to the CCF

A lot going on with this coin.

I believe there is an interior die break on the reverse as well, between the O of ONE and C of CENT.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art
