I was under the impression that you were not allowed to call a coin graded or slabbed unless it was by one of the 4 companies accepted by ebay.

I believe it does and they have their own grading system that runs 50-120! And MS means "mighty sucky"

Question sent
:I do believe you have been miss lead. The Holder is a " Coin World" holder sold for collectors to protect their coins. I know of no reputable company that uses commercially available third party holders.
Also the pictures do not agree with the MS designation. There are no breast feathers visible. Also you have the incorrect date in you description. Finally I should point out that ebay rules forbid calling a coin graded/Slabbed unless it is from an ebay approved company, PCGS, ANACS, NGC or ICG. perhaps you should revise your listing."

and look at another of his items:
1923 S PEACE SILVER DOLLAR HIGH GRADED & SLABBED
BEAUTIFUL UNCIRCULATED 1923S PEACE SILVER DOLLAR.
IT IS GRADED AND SLABBED MS-67 BY A REPUTABLE COIN INVESTMENT GRADING COMPANY ...

Looks like a weakly struck Unc;
I'm wondering if mintmark "S" indicates "Somewhere in the vicinity of Shanghai" ?

1 vote cast for Throw Up!

Seriously this clown needs to get a clue, he is not fooling anyone. It is obvious that he slabbed this coin himself. That the grade is close to 40-50 points off and is not even close to a boarderline UNC. Anyone who bid on this coin because of the description/ pic is nuts.

BTW I think it is only against policy to post a grade in the title if it is not in PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG slab. I don't know if that includes the description, in that reguard it would be "ok", but still way off basis.

Sorry it took so long to get back on this, but I had to clean up the mess on the floor.

So much for "raising the bar" on ebay. This is the first one I've personally seen in the self-slabbing ploy to miss the grading mark by that much. It's usually an AU cleaned coin graded MS65-67, but a VF at best coin ... give me a break. The written description is what put me over the top and induced the "hurl".

The frustrating part is the inability to zap the listing and send a few hundred volts back to the lister's keyboard (chair would be even better). This one is within ebay's boundaries (no grade in listing title). Don't believe the "slabbed" terminology is verboten. All we can hope is that no noob takes the bait and keeps this slug in the game.

Ok I thought I would have some fun, so I sent him this email:

"Hello,
Nice coin! I am interested in this, but want to find out more about the BCA label on there. I am looking for an inexpensive coin grading company to send some coins in for a friend. When I did a google search, it came up with "Black Coaches Association" so that can't be right. Can you point me in the right direction for more info for BCA? If everything looks good, I'll go ahead and place a bid.

Thanks in advance"
