I'll pile on here with the same advice moly...take the refund and let it go. You are not going to win the battle on this one and I really doubt ebay would do anything but issue a warning if that. I'm pretty certian no matter what you do, his opinion of you and your fellow countrymen is not going to improve. And his opinion is just that, his opinion. Here in the US we need to live with folks like this so that we can enjoy the other freedoms we have. It is part of the deal I suppose!

October 8, 2010 is the ship date and it's October 26... that's only 18 days and maybe 14 business days. I have also never had problems with purchases from Turkey(usually requiring a delivery signature), and the only PayPal/ebay claims I've made in like 8 years were insured shipments... one lost in Canada and one in the U.S... much hoop jumping, but postal insurance came through for the sellers in both instances. Both claims were duly noted as nothing personal, just business... and I want to help in the instances of postal insurance claims if required. Refunds were prompt and quite pleasant... as our feedbacks spoke for themselves. The best of a bad situation was resolved amicably for both parties... Let me meander further. On a recent purchase from Greece... the total postal transit time from drop to delivery was 27 days. Think overseas delivery, cutoms re-route, customs request for inspection then to delivery. You have 45 days to make a PayPal claim... I don't even consider such a thing till after 30 days. I live in Canada and 3 weeks for overseas mail is not uncommon and I don't even start sweatin' it till the forth week... and often enough, lo and behold thar she be! So, seems a little premature to me to be getting a refund, but you can... 1)Accept the refund AND assure the seller that if the item does show up you will IMMEDIATELY remit repayment for said item, and of course do so if said item arrives. 2)If you can get to a diplomatic level, you can agree to split the loss, as you both accepted the risk of regular mail. 3)You can request that the seller appologize in which case you will decline the refund. I do agree with you that for someone to post such remarks, as opposed to maybe just thinking them, is is is... not pleasant indeed, but perhaps after a little cooling off period a retraction would be appropriate. Anger can make some do shameful things. Sometimes, maybe that lost $45 can be the best money you ever spent. And thankfully not significantly more was lost. Bonne Chance MonAmi! and let us know if cooler heads prevail

All mailing systems have risks, especially overseas shipping. Hopefully everyone reading this will keep that in mind before offering worldwide shipping. I myself will never offer it. My past experience in the armed forces as taught me this much (more than once)! As for the comments of a typical "ignorant" American, come on.... is that really necessary? Are we to believe that Americans have more ignoramuses then other countries? Can we just call him an unreasonable, irrational and overreacting seller? BTW my advice is to take the refund, stop all communications and don't do business with them again.

I know its infuriating to have to deal with someone like that, who is gratuitously insulting and mean. But what are you going to do? The world is full of nasty people, and sooner or later buying and selling online you are going to run across such. Fortunately, the world is also full of good people, and you'll have the good fortune of running across that sort too. Take the refund and put the issue behind you. You're not going to change the person, and there's really no value to anyone in acting out of spite. If he continues to insult and harass you with many messages, contact someone at ebay. One nastygram is just a person venting. A string of them strikes me as abuse.

OK Some more information about six messages dealer sent me in an hour. We let the seller know you didn't receive the item. The seller offered you a full refund of $45.49 to be issued through the same payment method you used to pay for the item. Refund information: A full refund of $45.49 through the payment method used to pay for the item. Seller's note: "I never ever offered any full refund. I sent the item to the address provided. The label was printed clearly in large computer type. This buyer lied to ebay about contacting me. HE NEVER HAS SENT ANY DIRECT EMAIL TO ME AT ALL or INDIRECTLY through EBAY> This is a big fat lie. ONE LIE AND YOU LOSE THE CASE. you lie , you lose, and you did lie. you never sent any email to me to this moment. I have 3 documents showing this coin was sent. No delivery confirmation is possible to Turkey from the USA. You knew this. ebay is rampant with phony claims for non-reciept. Sellers are being robbed by characters like this buyer. Turkey is a nation of thieves and crooks, that is true 100 percent. Other sellers warned me, but I took a chance and this is my reward, a phony claim.Never again do I mail overseas any coin. I am tired of being ROBBED by ebay buyers with phony refund claims. This is 2 in one week now. 15 yrs of honest selling on ebay no problems, now everybody wants a refund. Enough! " This person is not credible at all. The clerk at the montclair post office states it takes 2-4 weeks for mail to arrive at a small town in Turkey. It is well known Turkey has a slow mail system. However this person has jumped the gun and not provided sufficient time for the item to arrive. He wants money from the seller, and no doubt either has received the item or will receive the item shortly. It has only been 15 days since leaving Florida at the overseas mailing facility there in Locka, Florida. That is NOT enough time to allow for slow Turkish small town mail to arrive, especially in rural areas. This item will or already has no doubt arrived there. I never ever promised to refund anything, nor will I since there is no proof that it didnt arrive. I have provided tracking info and that is the most that can be done. NO INSURANCE WAS AVAILABLE and the buyer knows overseas mail is at HIS OWN RISK. ..Knowing that, he still demands $45 form the seller and threatens very damning feedback as blackmail. I am a very poor senior with no resources to fight this corrupt system and fraudulent "jump the gun" early claim. ebay is treating sellers without resources to fight back in a cold and brutal manner, demanding they perform like big corporations or something. ....This is too much for the small ebay seller to take. 2 phony claim for big money amounts in 1 week all because of the postal system being slow. ....hopeless situation. I am tired of pointing out that guy's logic mistakes in replying. You won't believe what I did. I closed the case, didn't ask a refund (can keep that money...I do not want his coin or money and I will not sign it even if it arrives. he can keep it back with the money) issued him a warning, and filed all his Ip addresses and correspondance to a file. I hate that sort of people, and he is definately won't get a positive feedback from me, and I am sure he will keep mailing me asking for one, that . My only correspondance to him is as follows. This person clearly have manner and mental problems. During the messages he was even rude, I wasn't surprised he'd go swearing and threatening people. He clearly seems to know so much about fraud, most possibly one of his personal specialties. I am deeply sorry for what happened however insulting people or a nation is not a regular way to set things alright. If I had known what sort of person I am dealing with I would definitely stay clear. 15 years of selling or whatever years f living on this earth certainly added nothing to this seller, besides teaching a few tricks for quick bucks, perhaps. If you have successfully mailed items to Turkey before how come here is full of criminals? I am not accepting your full refund offer and will definitely get the negativest feedback I can to you. I will leave ebay to decide the outcome. I do not want to hear more from you or your kind as you showed what sort of person you are, seller." "www.ptt.gov.tr tracking results YURT DISI GĂ-NDERI SORGULAMASI (ITEM TRACKING) (Yurt disina giden APS (EMS) ve Kolilere (PARCELS) ait teslim ve sevk bilgilerini görebilirsiniz.) TESLIM DURUMU (DELIVERY INFORMATION) Bu Gönderiye Ait Teslim Bilgisi Bulunamadi ( There is no delivery information for the item) Barkod No: LC955524316US" I am deeply sorry. And for the sellers in the States who thinks similar to him, yes PLEASE do not ship to here. It doesn't worth it if things get that nasty. Also, for %95 percent who supported me in the forum, thank you very much. It is great to see people that thinks the same as you. This is why I love here. Sorry I've been banging your head with all that since yesterday. Moral of the story is, I am 45 dollars poorer (no remorse.. it helped me get to know some people) and very very sorry for one certain individual called booksmusicetc@peoplepc.com Mr J.C. Reed (if that is his real name..)

Don't bother with it anymore. And did he really just call you a criminal?! That deserves negative rating right there.
No insurance? I think according to the USPS, you need to have Priority mail to get international insurance. That's already $12 right there and another $4 or so for insurance. Registered mail costs that. That's why for all international shipments over $10 to Eastern Europe, Africa, China and other countries with less and trustworthy postal systems, I require registered mail. But at least I ask the buyer at the end if he wants to go through with the transaction, and if he doesn't, it goes to the 2nd person in line.
Don't worry about it. At least you got your money back.

Nope I didn't accept the refund. He didn't offer it it's ebay who offered me. Speaking of untrustworth postal systems, Post Canada managed to lost a priority tracked item of mine about a year ago. Tracking says it is still in Montral for delivery. It's been a year. I've issued the buyer in that case a full refund and didn't called anyone thief and criminal. I know ebay has a harsh system for sellers but a-) he doesn't have to sell on ebay. b-) system is not my fault. c-) nothing gives anyone to comment like that And Wd1040, I didn't get the refund. I'll let him have the money, I chose to be kinder than him. I know it is stupid, since we're alll crooks and thieves, but I did it.

Yes, wd1040, mine too. Believe it or not, I am a sensitive person. I've dealt with a ton of people all around, he's a kind that I've never seen before. I am now truly afraid to have a US Secret Santa contact :) Anyhow, I now have peace of mind I will never see that nutjob again. He has gotten his money and I don't havea coin (and will not accept it even it arrives) things in my life is still at normal.
Suprisingly enough, when my registered post was lost in Montral in Canada, I did't called all Canadians what he just said to me. He claimed he is an old senior, but definately experience doesn't usually come with age.

I have read ALL the posts to this migraine, I use to assist E-Bay and search out for the Prevention Of Fraud and Forgery in Numismatics on E-Bay, I would highly suggest you take the refund and move on, you are apparently obsessed with this transaction and He is also. I have reported hundreds of 'seedy" people and have seen "proper" results, by E-Bay in less than 1% of the times of their findings. I would put it to you the site makes money from ALL of the sellers, NOT the buyers and they 99% of the time side with the sellers, who pay to use the site, just my opinion.........Every moment spent upset, will NEVER be regained in any fashion... Collect and move on.

Morgan's Dad, So true E-bay makes all of its money from sellers not the buyer. The 1% "proper" results from reported seedy sellers is reprehensible. E-Pay's "Buyers protection" is a perpetrated fraud. Certainly somewhere behind closed doors the filthy rich E-Bay executives and their shyster lawyers predetermined their response for legitimate complaints from good people like you. Someday the flood of counterfeit and corruption will catch up to E-bay and the federal government will levy Hefty fines. Then, and only then will E-Bay take proper responsibility and look out for the customer and not the retailer. But hey, that's just my opinion!
