rh13...next time take a look at the inside curl of the 9...see how it points to a spot about 2/3 of the way down the 7 ? That is much easier to spot on the small date. On the large date it points more towards the mint mark...compare a couple and you'll see what I mean

Easier to look at the bottom of the 7 to see if it is lower than the zero.

All good advise. I learned one from DVcollector that I find works well with almost any mag. Turn the coin upside down and look at the seven. The tag end or the bottom of the seven extends well below the zero and it really stands out when viewed this way. You can see it in coops pics. Jim

Don't get alot of these 's' mints in Indiana either. Always gotta do a double take when I see a 70-s or the 69-s in my hand. Gotta keep looking to find 'em!

I have done some research on this small date coin, I have found a non-listed pup that is a fact. I contacted a cent specialist about this pup and was told there are already too many pup's for this coin. This pup is a very easy one to see. I have found that if the both points on the 9 are pointed, it is a small date. If the top inner point is flattened and comes to a blunt end, it is a large date, compare for your selves......... If there are too many pup's for this coin, why do sooo many people still ask about it?
