I have been searching some older threads, but I failed to find one appropriate to the question of this new thread.

I do have a large cent but it is nothing special, but I am sure that there a lot of members of the CCF that have something to share.

I know that I would stand to increase my knowledge of early U.S. coins by some!

I am tempted to start another thread later, with a wider definition to the question to include all North American coins/tokens.

My oldest US piece is an 1820 cent. If you include coins/tokens from colonies that would become the US, I have a Virginia halfpenny 1773.

1802 Draped Bust cent - Sheldon 231. It was a gift from my great uncle that helped get me started in collecting about 35 years ago.

As far as US federal issues, for copper would be the first one, and for silver it would be the second one.
