I will try to keep this short. Last week I hit a good jackpot at the casino. I have been telling myself next time this happened I was going to get the coin I have always wanted, So I am using part of the winnings to buy this coin. After winning the ebay auction I realized I had no one I could really share this with except for the good members on this forum. This is a very big moment for me, it is a coin I have wanted since starting my first whitman in the 1960's. It is also the most I have ever paid for a coin. My wife even laughed when I had this suprised look on my face when I won the auction. Now I have to wait and see if the coin is as nice looking to me as it looks in the pictures. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:IT

Congrats on your lucky hit at the casino, and a big pat on the back for not feeding it right back into their possession(like some in my family have done >.< ) What a great way to spend the winnings too. Great looking coin from the pics I saw!

Thanks for all the great replies. I was sort of thinking something might be wrong with the coin to get it at that price.
Most time when I bid on a coin, the price jumps way up at the end. This coin was sitting at $1000 for the last few hours. It was hard to figure out what to bid, with 20 seconds left I settled on $1277.00. I was thinking this coin might jump into the 1300's but was hoping for the best. So I really was surprised when it stopped moving at 7 seconds at $1111.16
I was going to ask on here if any had had dealings with this seller or what they thought of the coin but .. really was thinking I would not win ....
Now I wonder if I will be able to sleep tonight.

I know what you mean about the members on the forum and how great it is to share our good fortunes and they with us. I just recently got a coin I had wanted for a very long time myself. Watch now, it might happen to you, I found myself in a bit of a daze after realizing I had finally got my avatar. ( Pr 71 No S JN ) I was in a kind of limbo when I knew it was mine for a little bit. I am back on the horse though, now I have my sites on the 1909 S VDB as well. Or perhaps the 1955 Doubled Die LWC. Two other coins I always wanted to own. You got a dandy there, nice original investment coin I would say. CONGRATS!

Quote: Does this complete your Lincoln set? No My Lincoln set has been sitting for many years, needing the keys. So now the empty holes are 1909 S, 1914 D and 1922 no D. The casino win is enough to pick up the others .. but I am thinking my wife has other ideas .. so might have to wait for the next win to pick up some more keys. And now I will have that decision others have on here .. weather to break the slab and put the coin in my dansco ..
