Noting special. They make millions of them. They don't circulate they just sit it vaults.
There are some folks that collect them, me included, but at this point they aren't worth more than face value.

If it doesn't hurt you financially, I say "keep them" for 2 or 3 decades. Why not ?
Once the FRN (Federal Reserve $1.00 Note) is gone, and all of the dollar coins begin to flood our everyday use by the BILLIONS.......they won't be just sitting in vaults in BU condition anymore ! ....

You'll see all of the Sacagawea's, all of the Native Dollars, all of the Presidential dollars, and even a lot of Suzy B's will begin to re-surface, and then just massively POUR into all of the banks from the Federal Reserve vaults, then out to the public .......all of it.

Once there's no "paper dollar" anymore....annoyed or not, the American public will eventually forget we ever even had a "paper dollar".

If the Govt. DOESN'T ever get rid of the FRN.....then yeah.....basically just worth "face value".

I certainly have "my" couple rolls of Ole Honest Abe tucked away !
Also do the BU "folders".
Also do a Proof only Whitman album
And just try to keep a few nice singles put away for a rainy day.

Again.....why not ? I say. It's fun.....it's a hobby....there are some "what if ?" considerations.....my daughter likes em'......my Nephew likes em'.....they're circular historical beacons.....they teach.....from a distance they can pass as Pirates treasure....they fly incredibly well at fantastic speeds and directions when fired from slingshots.......just ALL KINDS OF REASONS to keep them.

I had started saving a roll of each president, but when I realized I had $250 just sitting there, I decided to put it to better use.

Yeah...... WAAAAAYYYY too much money to tie up saving EVERY President that comes out for "my" pocket book ! .....

But saving the occasional roll of some popular favorites couldn't hurt anything.

thanks everyone.
i have a presidential dansco that I'm working on, so I am a fan of the dollars. I just had not seen the bank rolls show up so I thought maybe I ran into something different.

since honest abe is one of the more popular presidents and I can cash them in any time, I will hang on to them just for kicks. maybe give one to each of my 2 daughters and one day maybe they will get a kick out of it!

thank you guys for the help.

I'd hold onto them for atleast a little while and see what happens with them. Lincoln to me seems to be the most popular president so far, which will equal higher demand. Before the business strikes were released, people were taking the Lincolns out of the proof sets and dumping the rest. I haven't come across a roll yet, but I intend to put some back.

Yeah, me too, picked them up at the bank last year, at face. Same logic as I'm hearing, here, nobody doesn't know who he is.
