Anyone know what causes the.. for lack of a better word.. splotchy toning on it? The peripheral toning seems to be album toning to me, but what causes the little specks of blue on the obverse?

AU-53 imo and very attractive! This is a perfect type coin, and wouldnt have the toning any other way.

Beautiful coin, with attractive original toning and an uneven strike which is common for trimes. I think I see some light wear at the top star point on the obverse. Otherwise it seems very close to mint state. The many small hairlines look like marks from handling rather than from cleaning. I'd go AU-55 for this little beauty.

Stunning coin! I'd put it at AU-55. Not sure if the hairlines would drag it down a little more, but it would be a shame to see the coin with that eye appeal at anything below 55!

WOw! that's a nice coin, I'd say at least AU 55 I love the toning! If I am right, also very slight MAD. But that doesn't affect the value.

Definitely an AU coin with great eye appeal. I'm thinking AU-55 on the coin. It's a beautiful lil thing.
