What do you guys think about this 1909-O Indian Half Eagle http://www.ebay.com/itm/40023873311....m1423.l2649The detail looks better than XF/AU to me, and the surfaces look halfway decent with a few marks. Looking at Heritage results, it seems like a pretty decent price if I could get him to come down a tad. thoughts?

Nice looking coin John! I would say AU50-53 for sure. Where is the surface damage? Is PCGS starting to list the problem? My 09-S VDB just states, GENUINE. If you can talk him down a little, you have one heck of a deal IMO ;-)

So...lots has happened since I last posted. The FE I wanted was sold to another person before I had a chance to make a down payment. There is another one I am considering, but it is a proof, so I'm a bit more hesitant. I did make an offer on this High Relief Saint Gaudens! This is another wish list coin, and an important part of expanding my gold type set. Item 230658819501.

Unfortunately not. Between long work days, church obligations, and my wife and I's anniversary; I just can't fit it in this weekend. It makes me really sad, but next time for sure! Are you going to be there?

I got a cold. =( I stopped in briefly yesterday and am thinking about going today, but mostly I just need to kick this cold so I can get back to work! I missed Dave yesterday. =(
Oh, and that's not a bad '56, but I'm with you on going for business. I'd say hold out and be patient. Make an offer if you like, but I wouldn't be aggressive.
One thing I've learned with collecting - there's always a better one just around the corner.
Offer wasn't accepted on the Gaudens HR?
btw, Rick Snow has two booths at LB?
OH, and happy Anniversary! :D Every one of those is a cherished milestone.

I apologize for not updating this in a while! I made offers on several HR Saints, with no agreement on a price. It was worth a shot. Anyways, this is what I finally decided on! http://www.ebay.com/itm/32075919875....m1497.l2649I will definitely post some better pics when it arrives. I had to pay by echeck on this one, so it will be a week or two before I get it. The price was right, and I have a return policy and paypal protection if anything goes awry. I did some research on the seller, and he appears legit. I admit, making a purchase like this kind of scares the bejeebers out of me, but I'm SUPER excited!

Sorry but I haven't kept up with the thread and don't feel like reading all the pages. You decided on a small cent's collection? Or are you just going for all of them? lol.
