Ain't greed great! I think it's nice just to be able to have that decision to make....

"Do you want to stop now or go for what's behind door number two?"

You can turn $1,500.00 spent on 5 Sets, into $4,250.00 ..........?

Mercy ! .....

But then you have no Set after it's all sent off ? .....

I dunno what ya otta do .......but ya better do it quickly !
If it sits there for too long ....... Temptation would have me opening that dang box sooner than later, to see what's in there ! .....

Yes .. big decision ...
I almost wish they didn't go to this level and maybe will go higher. When I ordered 5 sets I was thinking I would keep one or two sets .. and hope to be able to sell the others to pay for the ones I keep. Now we have potential profit to deal with. I know if I sell all the sets I will have to buy another ....

But then .. what if these sets start trading at $1500 a set .. crazy crazy crazy

Scarp9603

My card was declined (because of a card limit, I did not know about) last week.
I caught it because I was checking my order a couple times a day. I saw it go from
"in process" to on hold. So I called the mint .. they had me add a card and split the charges.

Also some are getting a notice that a letter was sent to confirm shipping address.
When that happened to my friend, she called and confirmed shipping address over the phone.
She got her sets yesterday.

That's a pretty broad statement. I think you meant, "if you ordered between 4:30pm and ?:?pm, then your not too late.

There is some concern that this set was sold out at around 4:30 PM est. As I sated in an earlier post my order went through some time between 4:15PM and 5:00PM.

So the fact that I was at the end of the projected sell out it might give some comfort to those that did the same.

How long after 4:30PM est will you be lucky? I don't know that but being so close to 5:00PM is a pretty nice spread.

Of course if you where on time you wouldn't care about the time issue would you.

Don't forget, there will be orders that were kicked to the side by the Mint for various reasons - CC issue, Address issue, over limit issue, etc, etc.

And now its time for another chapter in the Prime-Time Top 10 Series...

[Trumpet Fanfare]

Any-News-On-25th-Anniversary-ASE-Set?

Earle 42 once again dials the (imprinted on his fingertips) number of 1 800 USA MINT and says "zero"

Yet another rep (wow - they have a lot of people there) named Shelly answers the phone and...
well you get the idea.

However, as a new twist to the plot - Shelly asks when Earle42 FAXed his screenshot for proof that he had completed an order.
Earle42: I was not informed that I could/should when I told Lori, Judy, Tiara, Kelly, Steve, Yolanda, Patty, Whitney, and Maggie that I had a screeshot proving it.
Shelly: Really? I'm surprised no one told you to do this!
(Oh no thinks Earle - maybe it HAS been a runaround!)

After receiving the FAX number, Earle emails the FAXs to his wife at work to send hem out.

He again asks if he can speak with someone who has the authority to just cancel a late order and re-install his order. Maggie (Earle42 knows of her!) is asked, by Shelly and being on hold for only a few seconds, Maggies reply, through Shelly, is that this cannot be done since Maggie said she already is aware of my case and they are looking into it. I will be contacted when the case is solved.

Earle42 tells Shely he is aware - online - of people sayiing they were told they ordered too late and will not get their set/s. He expresses concern that by the time his case is solved, that all the sets may have been shipped.
Earle42: Is there any way I can talk to someone who at least knows if there is a number of sets still not designated to be shipped so they can honor my order?
Shely: I will send an email to Maggie and ask her to check on this.
Earle42: Will she email me the answer?
Shelly: No, company policy forbids outgoing mails from her office to customers.
Earle42: Can she call me?
Shelly: Yes, I will include this in the mail.
Earle42: Shelly, I appreciate your time. You have a great day now.
Shelly: You to... cue typical thank you message from the mint.

Earle42 now, at least, is a little more optimistic b/c Maggie knew of his case and they also have added a FAX machine to their office so we can better communicate!

OK, OK, that last part is an assumption. But did Lori, Judy, Tiara, Kelly, Steve, Yolanda, Patty, Whitney, and Maggie all forget they had one there?

Seriously - with as many people as I have talked to, and the chaos ensuing from this sale, I am surprised things can be kept straight there at all! They have all been nice to talk to. And I suspect no one else thought of the FAX b/c they thought the computer records were enough.

Yes fans, tune in next week when we hear a new rep say, "You what? FAXed the screenshot? I didn't know we had a .... Saaaaay - So
THAT's what that funny looking print on that rough Kleenex was!"

mkfarm: Thanks for the update with the portion of your order number. I have a two orders with a status of "in process" in the 3838xxxx range and was beginning to think I was going to get shut out. At least I again have some hope I may get my orders.

BTW, I spoke to a manager on the mint's customer service phone. I explained my ordering difficulties and offered a suggestion that the mint somehow allow pre-sales to customers with active subscriptions to reward customer loyalty, and to give collectors a chance before the profit-only buyers. He suggested I write the "Director of the Mint" since the people I spoke with can not pass comments back up to the mint. I sent out a lengthy but polite letter on Monday recapping my ordering difficulties and my suggestion for customer pre-sales.

Wonder what may come first, the two sets I ordered or a response back from the mint?

Thanks Granite and all else who are pulling for me.

BTW - thank to jgfindring I now have one of these beautiful sets sitting in front of me where I can see it. My wife has no interest in coins and her comment as she walked by it was, "Wow!"

My two kids came in and both asked questions about it (some detailed). This is an amazing set for sure.

I also admit I love the styrene-ish plastic smell of the "hardwood case"

Seriously, although I like hardwood, I think in this case (pun intended), the deep blue, heavy plastic makes a better contrast with the coins. Could it be hardwood covered in plastic - kind of a lot to go through? I also like the added touch of the stars imprinted on the top ends of the plastic case. This is quality stuff!
