My 3:40PM ET 05-JUL order for two sets is still "backordered" and "expected to ship" 10/31/2012. My fingers are getting really itchy to open the two sets I received on 08/06/2012 even though they are FS eligible the way they are. I am never going to submit them, and it doesn't look like anyone is going to pay for them without looking at them.

If you decide to send them in to grade, try to go w/ NGC since they have the "special" retro/black holder available for silver and gold coins. I'm just saying.... I'm pondering this myself.

Easier to just buy retro 70/70 sets for $259 (paradise mint) then go through the hastle. $100 premium over issue price and you know you will get 70/70 seems the easy choice to me. Once you get shipping and grading costs involved you end up out of pocket about the same and no promise of 70/70!

Agreed with roller, especially if youre only sending 1 set in.

I just revisited paradise mint and now they want +$18.00 for the mint packaging (inner/outer boxes, wooden case, COA and capsules I guess)! I believe that it was included last week or two at no additional charge. http://www.paradisemint.com/2012-S-..._p_3239.htmlI did not see any PF70/70 sets...maybe I was looking in the wrong area.

Thanks for the tip on NGC. If I do decide to send any in, it would be NGC. My local store owner lets me send in through him w/out charging any extra.

Paradise Mint sold out the 70/70 set yesterday. Modern Coin Mart also sold out the 70/70 set.

Gotta say, the NGC 70's I received in the retro black holders look much better than the PCGG FS 70's I got last month. Either it was dumb luck or the quality is much better in the 2nd batch to be shipped.

Hey Earle42 - I haven't been on here for a couple of days, just wanted to tell you I love the coffee table, nice work! How cool would that be to have in your house? I bet if you got robbed they would leave it in the house not thinking it was real silver :-) You could probably hang a mirrored proof version in your bathroom and use it for a mirror.

Might not be related to the SF set, but I just received an email from the US Mint to take a survey, and they asked a lot of questions about my opinion on a Reverse Proof gold Buffalo coin in 2013 for the 100th anniversary. I sure hope they are also considering doing a silver version.

Thanks Teach - You know this might not actually be all that hard in wood if someone is skilled with a router. It would take some time though.
@addielise - Wow, I cannot imagine a reverse proof buffalo. I think it would be out of reach of a lot of people's wallets though. I cannot see the gold Buffalos ever being as popular - as in collected by the masses - b/c of the price. But what an amazing coin it would be. I would like to see a silver version.

RP would be neat in 1 oz (both au and ag), but I'd also like to see a set of unc 2013 fractional buffs. Whoops, pretty OT...sorry.
