My 2018 to do list:

1. Finish up on my original research and complete my 3rd book relating to POTUS sGm. It's been over a year since E-Sylum created a December 2016 article after seeing my November 2016 ANA blog with a draft book cover.

Goals-For-The-New-Year---2018

2. Officially activate my numismatic publishing company. State and federal doing business as (DBA) filed. Service Mark is at the Statement of Use (SOU) point. Just need the books from item 1 and item 3 to file a business use example with USPTO.

3. Finish a book relating to Princess Kaiulani issues. Catalog organized and formed. I still need to take a few photographs of specimens from my wife's collection for the book. In 2017, I turned over the "almost" completed collection to her.

Goals-For-The-New-Year---2018

4. Enter an exhibit at the 2018 World's Fair of Money at Philidelphia, PA. My goal is a first place ribbon (of which I fell one level short in 2017).

I think my main goal for 2018 will be to try and finish of sets. I've been working on my British predecimal type set (1760-1970) for some time, but perhaps has taken a back seat of late. I'd like to regain focus with this and aim to fill more gaps. I'd also like to finish off some of the world type sets I've got on the go, and continue to try and get OFEC.

I always enjoy this annual topic, examining my priorities and reading what others will be working on. I'm going to be thinking about that over the next week.

My goal for 2018 is the same as it was for 2017, to add at least one coin to my early date large cent set. 2017 was good for me I added three and upgraded two. I now have 253 of the 295 Sheldon varieties and 5 of the Non-collectible varieties. And I want another.

Hoping - in companion of Patience and Purse - to find one or two interesting new pieces this year.

I would like to finish off my "modern" Danscos (Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt dime, ATB Quarters, Pres and Sac Dollars) with the last few outstanding proof coins I need from 2012-2017 and then get serious about my 7070. I'd also like to get back into my 20th century World type set. That should keep me busy enough.

1) Books. More reference books/catalogues. I can not have enough research material :)
2) add to foreign paper/coins
3) add another couple to my slabbed buffalo set
4) grow stocks and bonds collection
5) looking to find an Oklahoma Sales Tax Token dispenser at a cost I can afford- this will be my white whale I think.

#1 is easy. #2-4 difficulty is based on my pickiness. #5 gonna be a long search I imagine, but no rush as I am just becoming acquainted with this fascinating category in numismatics - sales tax tokens.

My goals this year are to simply do it again, I haven't collected in years so my goal, for now, is to just fill some hole wherever I can.

Seems like a good goal to set.

Well, my first goal for 2018 to fill 3 holes in Dansco 7070.

Two Seated dollars and Barber half. Why is a decent Barber half at reasonable price is hard to come by I thought this would be a easy hole to fill. I have about 50 Barber half dollars, but all are G to F.(from younger days when I acquired a lot for possible Barber half album) I'm looking for XF+ or AU for 7070.

Then, I want to study more about 8 Reales. I though about buying some but realized there are too many pit falls and much to learn about the series. Perhaps I can start toward the end of the year and purchase few from different era.

Lastly, I want to learn more about collecting raw commemorative halves. After purchasing few of the popular slabbed commemorative halves from the series, I want to learn more before possibly jumping into collecting the raw collection.

I wish I have enough time ...

I only need two thirds of that. The Seated dollars.

Of course, my Barber half is circulated, so it was an easy hole to fill from my point of view.
