Really pretty for a 17-S. I vote AU55-AU58.

I don't see any gown lines going across the leg so I'd say Low AU at best.

Close to mint state and nice. Weak gown lines seem pretty standard for pre-1921 Walkers. I'd call it AU-58.

Is that clashing on her right arm...and in that area there are also 3 scratch lines that give me cause for concern...?

Smat , I think your right about the clashing marks on obverse , but I didn't think that would affect grade .

Thanks for the ideas - right online with what I was thinking as well.

Sorry. Camera on the fritz.

ANACs says

Details
AU 50
REV Cleaned.

Now my question: Would the cleaning have taken it down to AU50? It is very hard to find any hits to the surface and devices. Again, the pics show scratches on the slab.

In fact, in hand it takes tilting it at the right angle to find the cleaning. Tilting it at just the right angle shows an area where the rim and lettering "ES OF AM" on the REV had something removed. That area looks like faint toning appear with a very, very light blueish tint - again - when tilted.
Otherwise a full-on view shows normal luster.

One of these days I will take the time to improve taking good pics!

Yes - too bad these all were not fully struck.

Totally my pictures doing it. Like I said above - in hand it just looks like normal, beautiful luster.

Better pixs would help, however the luster can be seen on the obv between the rays and all around the T of Liberty, but nada on the rev. Great looking coin to have never the less..

A bit surprised ANACS went with a Details 50. Hard to tell about the cleaning and wonder why just on the reverse?

So when I click on the pic to enlarge it and zoom in on the obverse between the I and B of LIBERTY...those 3 scratches are on the holder and not the coin?
As far as the cleaning goes...must have to have it in hand to see it...I can't tell?
Nice coin!
