November update: • Proof silver Statehood set completed. • ATB set on hold. • Working on expanding my Gulden Type Set into a full Kingdom of The Netherlands Type Set. Started with commemoratives, Dutch East Indies coins. and "dubbeltjes".• Planning to collect Dutch Provincial silver ducats from the 18th Century. A first attempt at obtaining a specimen failed due to being immediately outbid ( https://coins.ha.com/itm/zeeland/wo...ption-071515 , the final price is way too high IMO).

I don't actually know if I'm going to visit any coin-selling places this month. The weather is unpleasant, and I usually go on a large birthday coin-shopping binge in early January, but I'm also earning way more than I used to, so there's not as much reason to save up for it.
I'd have written out a report anyway but I'm not sure if there'd actually be any change since the Q3 report in October.

I will amend this if a miracle happens. My Q4 Update: 1. Fill the last six core Dansco album holes (7000-3, 7070-1, 8100-2) - Still got nothing but some items on the watch list, which has been very dynamic the last few months. 2. Finish the extended part of the PCGS Ike set ( 2013-P Proof, 2015 P/D/S-PR/P-RP) - 2013-P Proof purchased in March! (was on Q1 report). Some 2015 dollars on the watch list still. 3. Buy whatever appeals to me from 2021 US Mint offerings... ASE Two Coin Set delivered! (Previously Reported) GHWB C&C set delivered! Morgan and Peace dollars delivered! 2021 American Innovation Dollars proof and reverse proof sets received on enrollment. Bought the 2019 and 2020 reverse proof coins (which were still available from the mint) after deciding I would to collect both proof types.

2020 has been such a good year, but already the following appeal to me. 1. Completing UK halfcrowns so I have at least one coin of every date back to 1816 (Now have back to 1896) 2. Getting a halfcrown of George I, William and Mary and James I and even Elizabeth I if possible (James II fell into my lap recently) 3. UK Florins - all back to at least 1875 (So far most back to 1887 and complete 1970 back to 1914) 4. Australian Florins complete except 1932 December Update Overall I have done so well, that my savings have moved backwards not forwards despite steady work all year 1. More progress, 112 different, still missing a few coins in the 1800s and damned 1965! But have upgraded many and added coins of William and Mary and a decent George II and Anne coin. 2. William and Mary yes, others no - but I have taken up shilling collecting and with those have not 1 but 2 George I shillings and James II and Elizabeth along with 4! George II shillings. 3. Florins have been neglected a bit but big changes and add ons are coming! 4. More dates filled up, but not complete - however have added a 1932 Florin, the first 5 years and a 1935 Melbourne Florin along with the set complete back to and including 1940 which is great! 5. Branched into banknotes particularly Fiji, Tonga and Papua New Guinea, also a big Fijian coin collecting buzz 6. Started on NZ Tradesmens tokens and scrip coins 7. Started on British shillings and now have a collection approaching that of the Florins and Halfcrowns, with coins going back to the 1500s! So a great year, lots of achievement - but not entirely focussed.

My 2021 Wrap-Up: 1. Finish Ike PCGS slabbed set - Didn't finish but knocked out four, adding three "core" and one "extended". This leaves 5 core and 2 extended, which I hope to be able to complete in '22.2. Continue with my world paper money collection by adding at least 100 notes - Met this goal with about 120 world notes added. 3. If silver stays under 30 and the premiums decrease to closer to a dollar, resume monthly silver stacking - premiums are still pretty silly. No silver stacked in '21.4. Add 5 older ASEs to the holes in my collection - no progress here. Too many current ASEs, Morgans, and Peace dollars to contend with this year.Other than a few US Mint offerings, I think that's about as aggressive as I want to be this year. - "A few" -- HA! Good heavens they almost broke me this year (see #4 above).

@princetane, that sounds like a great year, and yes, "scope creep" is something I am always confronted with too. When I induge it, the remorse ends as soon as the coin arrives in the mail. Rather than keep my quarterly updates, I'll just give a year end summary, adding that December was a bountiful month, so some of these are not yet in hand 1. Add any early dated coins (for me 1474-1506) I can find that fit my existing themes. I am missing 1483, 1486-88, 1491,1497,1506 most of which will be difficult, or may never get filled (except 1506 where there is a clear target). I was able to get dated 1506 (Pomerania) and 1497 (Brabant). But I also added a lot of undated medieval coins attributable to single years that fit with my existing collecting themes: 1472, 1471, 1463, 1450, 1443, 1440, 1427, 1403, 1376, 1373, 1363, 1337. 2. Fill the missing 17th century dates in my Kingdom of Poland OFEY (1656, 1657, 1659, 1679) two of these preferably with larger silver (1/4 thaler)from Torun and Gdansk mints. Done, though I decided to forego coins from those mints that have continued to escalate in price. 3. Fill a handful of other gaps in the 1600s (1639, 1641, 1642, 1692, 1695) with coins that fit my other themes. (Edit: I just took care of 1642). Nearly done. Only 1695 remains for 2022.

1. Get the rest of the Canadian and US 2020 coins I need and look for 2021 coins once they are out. I have (almost) all Canadian 2020 & 2021 circulating coins. Still need some US.2. Work on getting more Canadian Victorian silver. This was a focus this year and I whittled away at my list.3. Continue to build out my Morgan dollar collection, focusing on higher grade nicely toned New Orleans mint issues. I picked up three from a follow coin club member. Not slabbed, but all MS tonners. Morgan prices in general have gone way up. Hope to get to a show in the US at some point to avoid paying shipping.4. Expand my banknote collection into US $1 notes. No progress here yet. Was scheduled to go to January's FUN show, but canceled the trip.5. Continue to stoke my older daughter's and nephew's interest in coins. Went to one show with my daughter. Neither of us bought anything. Most of the stuff was above both of our budgets. Looking forward to shows with a kids table and/or kids auction.6. Finally, maybe not a 2021 goal but add a Canada 1948 silver dollar and US 1909-S VDB cent. Not really a priority.
