Poll Question
In the 15 years I've collected coins, 95% of my Collection has come from Sellers on E-bay. I'm wondering am I the only crazy out there or are there others like me? Below is a poll that is self explanatory, let me know your buying secrets! Glenn

About half, although this has taken some time looking for. Took me a few hours to find some reasonably priced SLQs with even wear, but theyre out there.

Less than 0.1% of my coins come from ebay. I like better to look at my coins directly when I buy them, not some prolly Photoshopped image.

The results are about what I would have expected. The U.S. numismarket is the biggest. A large number of U.S. collectors live in towns or cities where the scope of dealer and auction services are inadequate for their needs. In a lot of cases, the same would apply to other services as well. In such an environment, ebay is very convenient to their collecting interests. Even if living in NY or LA, getting to visit your friendly local dealer is inconvenient, due to time and fuel costs. I am fortunate enough not to be confronted with these problems. I don't need ebay.

Good point sel_691,the nearest dealer or show is a two and half hour trip for me each way, probably the biggest reason I buy mostly on ebay

I buy on ebay quite often, including a couple big purchases. I make sure the seller has 100% feedback and a CLEAR return policy in place. Only been disappointed once and the seller was great. Selling is another story.

F.Y.I.: Did you know that half of all ebay users are 45+ (Baby Boomer Generation)and the most popular category of products is Collectables, so you are not alone! Glenn

I would say maybe 10% from ebay. I hit Coin shops, auctions, pawn shops, antique shops and roll search to find the majority of my collection but sometimes due to cost or rarity ebay is it.

I have never bought a coin on ebay. I have shopped and watched many coins on ebay over the last 15 years or so, but have never gone through with a purchase.

All I collect now are ancients and the only place around me that sells coins only deals with US coins, so I pretty much have to buy online, ebay included.

Less than half of my collection is from ebay. Most were from dealers, before ebay was around, and some coin shows, but ebay is a nice place to shop and compare prices very easily.
