12 Days ago I sent my first submission to NGC. A 1916-D Mercury dime, a 1876-S Trade dollar and a 1917-D SLQ. Got an e-mail from them today saying the coins were on the way back. I am pretty excited about this, all I want to do is set and wait for the mailman, forget work. I will post the results and some pics when they arrive. I should have joined the collectors society so I could see what grades I got.

Waiting really is the worst part about sending coins in. If the express wasnt so expensive I would pick that every time

Fuzzy not sure about Ngc but if it's anything like pcgs they email you with the coin grades before they ship them back. I would guess that only happens if you join yourself instead of using a dealer to send it in

Well, here's the latest. While I was at work Saturday the mailman tried to deliver the coins but Mrs. Slick thought going to garage sales was more important than the coins, so I have to wait until Monday. The only e-mail I got from NGC was telling me that they shipped them back, and the way I understand it is for $39.00 more I could have upgraded my collectors society membership and then they would allow me to see how they graded the coins before I get them back. Pics will be posted Monday evening, stay tuned.

Well here are the results.... First coin I pull from the box was the 1917-D SLQ which graded at.... Very Happy with that grade. Then came the 1876-S Trade dollar.... Very, Very Happy now, I bought that at VF-30 price. And then came this.... Major disappointment here. I never expected any problems with this coin. Does this mean they are telling me that the coin is fake? I was never expecting this, I was more worried about the Trade dollar than I was the Mercury dime.
