Just curious how many members here are collecting Lincoln cents?

And how are you doing?
Are you doing 1909 to date, or maybe just wheat cents?

For me I have all the holes in my dansco 8100 filled, except the 1922 no D. Recently I have been thinking about doing some serious upgrades.

So I am curious what others are doing ..

I am working on a set in uncirculated in a Dansco 7100; Red from 1934 to present and R/B pre-1934. I have 1928-present in uncirculated as well as all the P mints except 1915; working on upgrading the D and S mints but those are tough and expensive. Also missing the 09-S, 09-S VDB and 14-D. Not sure what I will do with those unless I win the lottery in the near future.

My 7100 pictures are pretty out of date at this point but kinda lazy with the camera...

I am collecting Lincoln Cents from 1909 to present. Currently I am in the process of filling a few holes between 1910 to 1930.

Recently I have been picking up the keys and semi keys.

I just have 2 keys left to purchase, the 1914 D and the 1922 no D. Tomorrow I am going to my local coin dealer to pick up a 1922 no D and this weekend I am going to a coin show to pick up some semi keys, a few common LWC, and possibly a 1914 D.

I recently went back to my roots collecting Lincoln Cents. After 24 years, I am finally on track to finish.

09 to present. ONLY coin missing, 1909 S VDB. Set is 1914 D XF, everything else is MS6xBN to MS65+Red. I am NOT adding the 22 no D to the collection....as it is an error coin.

Have a couple that I will upgrade, but not a lot. Some of the upgrades would be too cost prohibitive. Picked up an MS63RB 1916 at the local coin club meeting on Tuesday. The 09 S (unc, BN with some red) and the 1915 P (63RD/RB) arrived late last week.

I am working on two sets.

1. A set of cents I find from circulation 1909 - present. All MMs. May never finish this one but it's fun to try. Always upgrading and saving the ones that are bumped down...might create a secondary of this set as well.
2. A set of all proofs and UNCs (or best I can find/buy) w/ all the finishes, MMs, and major varieties. Obviously I'm buying these and its completion is based on my wallet. :) Using Danscos for this set.

Have fun!

The only cents to date that I collect are the WW2 Steel ones. Not sure it will ever grow more than that but I love the history of what the steel ones represent.

Well I guess thats not entirely true, I do collect proof silver sets so I do have the cents from all of those as well

1909-Date, in my self created 2x2 binder.

Dates missing are:
09-S VDB
09-S (acloco is sending me his.. )
11-S
14-D

I have been super proactive lately on getting my collection completed and upgrading aggressively. Most is AU+, I grab anything I see that's MS+ and affordable.

I am keeping all the AU that I swap out and hopefully have a second set someday, but I am also selling all my common dates and then some that I have been trading out (Shameless plug... to go towards my VDB fund lol see my signature )

I was at my parent's house today, and my dad asked me "what am I going to collect after this is done", I told him that it will never be done! I plan on continuing to add anything "Lincoln" for as long as I can.. An example of this is in 2010, my set jumps from a penny to a Presidential dollar coin.. I collect chronologically not historically if that makes sense.

I pick up a few toned cents here and there especially wheaties. But for the modern ones I mostly look through my pocket change. Sometimes I get lucky.
