If you want to get away from cents, since you just completed that one, I would suggest Buffalo nickels or Liberty nickels. You can do a date set of Buffalos, as opposed to collecting the expensive 1916/16, 1918/7-D, or 3-Legged. The only 3 toughies in the Liberty set would be the 1885,1886,1912-S. These can be had right away, or later depending on your budget. Other than the 32-D & 32-S, this would be good too: Washington quarters 1932-1964

How about the SBA complete set with errors and varieties in the highest grade known? It was a short run series. I think a complete normal set consists of 15 coins. John1

I agree with Fuzzy, Liberty nickels or Buff nickels are a good idea to start with!

Ikes are very doable at a decent price. Maybe a quick set to work on as a warm up.

I would go with either Mercs or Buffs.

You could do worse than collecting gold or electrum staters of the Bosporus! I had one years ago, but it was sold as part of a small but nice collection of contemporary coins, when I needed some money. I now regret selling it.

Just because I recently got back from Canada, I am going Canadian Quarters. While I was in Canada, I had fun going through all of my change to find ones that I did not already have.

I have to say, I am leaning toward liberty head nickels. I like the idea of starting a late 19th early 20th century series.

What about the Peace dollars. They are a small run, prices aren't really out of line, and you could put together a good and respectable set for what is a reasonable price in this hobby of ours.

Ghostrider, I don't know why Peace dollars slipped my mind. I would definitely put that on my potential list.

My son and I went to the coin shop on Sunday, he is 8 and had a pocket full of money he had been saving. As I was buying silver bars I told him go buy what you want. After we paid we compared our purchases... he bought a bunch of Peace dollars in nice shape for $20 each! I am very jealous, now I'm thinking of adding Peace dollars to my collection. The more I look at them the more I like them.

I suggest you attempt to finish those that you already started. From experience I've found trying to do to many different coins at the same time makes me a bit nutty. I have many lists of coins I need, want, could use, etc. and I purposely leave them at home when going to coin shows. If I did bring a list I'd end up having to sell my house to pay for all the coins on those lists. I too have way to many unfinished sets and will probably never finish them all due to just to many. My problem though is I get Albums free so I'm constantly attempting to fill a new one. You already sound like your getting the same illness that I'm presently in with just to many sets going at the same time. You really should try to finish more of the ones already started such as the Mercury dimes. Going back to your finishing of Lincoln Cents. Do you use an Album? Does it have slots for all those silly coins such as the 22 plain, 55 & 72 & 95 Doubled Dies? Are there slots for all the 60's, 70S's, 82's?
