Was reading in another section, a member who set a few free! Made me think... I sometimes will get change, and just put it in my pocket (although yes I do carry extra flips everywhere ), sometimes that change I will spot something interesting and mean to keep it. Anyone ever set a coin free one of value, or just uniqueness, that you regret? Did you get it back? If so, how? LOL

I posted this in another thread: "I keep my spending change in one pocket, and if I get change back it goes in a different pocket. Those are checked before joining the others." I also have spare flips in my briefcase and my truck.

I've usually got a three pocket system going, left back for spendables, right back for special stuff, fob pocket for other special stuff or quick draw cash.
I do recall once having to spend a $2 bill I was going to save for later for lack of other cash and lack of desire to use my debit card.

I always re spend tourist change after an overseas trip. Worthless to me, and I know that there is always someone out there who will appreciate it!
Just review some of the threads here in the CCF on this subject. Almost no criticism at all from those who score, and a lot of bright faces.
Even MY face brightens when I find some of this stuff!
Coins were made round to go 'round. The first step towards a 'one World' coinage system!

you know what kills me... I am 28 years old. I remember when I was younger and my parents and grandparents would take trips to Atlantic City, I can imagine my grandmother carrying around a bucket of half dollars, before the days when Slot Machines worked on only bills and credit vouchers... Oh how I would love to search those buckets of circulating items now!

Not quite, but I once sold a coin, and won it in an auction 10 years later!

I benefited from someone else putting goodies into circulation. I worked in a bank that took in the lunch money from all the schools in the district; bags full of coin. You know I could hear that silver drop on the other side of the building. It was usually one coin here or there and I'd make them stop the machine and I'd find it. One day, there was over $4 in silver dimes and it was like Christmas for me. Kids raiding collections, tsk tsk. I keep mine under lock and key.

Before I developed any interest in coins, I once spent a silver dime. The only one I've ever gotten in change. And my dad once spent an Indian Head cent, not knowing what it was. <-indeed

Back when I was heavily searching nickel rolls, four rolls of Buffalo nickels that I had accumulated ended up going back with the common circulated Jeffersons by mistake. Somebody got lucky!
