Just wondering if these are of interest to anyone here or not. Or should I just spend them?

The 100 is an Ortega Brady and the 20 is a '77 Morton Bluementhal

I would spend them, but I am not a bill person. Hope the cashier knows the small portraits aren't fake.

Actually. I am not interested in them for myself. I just would like to know if anyone here can inform me if they are collectible or not. In fact if the general consensus is that they are nothing really rare (which would be my guess), and someone on the forum wants them, as long as they would pay face value + postage/insurance/whatever, then I want these to be in a someone's collection instead of being sent in to be destroyed.

Spend before inflation makes them worth less, you are better off buying $120 in silver.

Actually, they are "spent" on silver. They will be used when I pay off the bill for 2012 ASE sets I ordered.

My price guide list these bills at $140 in CH CU for the $100 and $60 in CH CU for the $20.

There is no other grades listed, just CH CU.

IMO for the $100 with a hard fold in the middle and soft fold, also pin holes with rust stains, I would spend the $100.

The $20 is a little better in grade, but to me, not good enough to keep .. unless you were wanting it in you collection and not to flip.

Edit .. watching TV and trying to post .. makes me slow .. good idea spending them on silver.

I really appreciate the help with these. I guess they will just go back and be destroyed. I just wanted to make sure no one here could use them.

Actually this is the reason I got rid of some older notes I had had for awhile. They were losing value. Had I spent them on silver back when I saved them my return would have been a lot better.

They are not worth holding on to. I'm glad you spent them.

Sell the $100 and spend the $20. You can get $120 for the $100.
