I did very well collecting on 2012. Here's the sets I was working on and completed in 2012:
Large cents: I'm working on them. I have about 10-12 to get to finish the set, but I'm not going to complete it.
Flying Eagle cents: I have the 57, 58 small date and 58 large date
Indianhead: Just need 2 dates to complete my set.
Lincoln Wheat: just need the 4 key dates
Lincoln Memorial: complete and working on filling in proofs.
2 cent coins. Managed to get all except for the 72 and 73 which are out of my league. As far as I'm concerned my set is complete.
Got a few 3 cent silvers and 3 cent nickels. Those sets are also out of my league so just a few is all I want.
Completed
Buffalo nickel set and
Shield nickel set. As for the 77-81
Shield nickels they're too expensive for me so as far as I'm concerned I'm done with them. The Liberty head set is complete also with exception of the 12S so I'm done with them.
As for silver
Roosevelt dimes, I completed the set this year. Went from having only 8 Mercuries to needing 14. I hope to complete the
Mercury dime set in 2013. I'm not bothering with the 16D as it's too rich for my blood.
Working on silver
Washington quarters. The clad 1965-2012 is up to date. Am also getting the S Mint business strike
ATB.
Kennedy halves: the set is up to date.
Eisenhower dollars,
SBA dollars are complete including proofs.
Sacagawea dollars are up to date.
Presidential dollars up to date.
Presidential dollars are up to date.
Birth year set completed.
Canadian:
Large cent 1858-1920: only need 2 to complete it.
Small cent 1920-2012: complete
Nickel: 1922-2012: complete
Dime: 1937-2012: complete
Quarter: 1967-2012: missing only 3. I'll get those in 2013.
half dollar 1967-2012: complete
Nickel dollar 1967-1987: complete
Loonie 1987-2012: complete
Toonie 1996-2012: complete
I'll be working on my Newfoundland collection & Provincial collection. I have quite a few so far.
I wouldn't have been able to get this far without the terrific people in the forum! I've only been collecting for 3.5 years (started in 2009) and I've come a long way since then.
For 2013 I'll continue plugging away with S Mint proof sets and maybe starting on
Franklin halves. I think I also want to complete a type set for 19th century type set since I have a completed 20th century type set. I have quite a few already so might as well complete it.
