So I am starting this thread in hopes of seeing what others have found and regard as prizes from the bank. Since this is in modern, I'd like to see any modern coins that you've found so that I can keep an eye out for more errors or rare coins.

My finds from the bank- 1996 D Kennedy half dollar, 1984 D Kennedy half dollar, and 1990 D Kennedy half dollar, all of which appear to be good grades, though not 100% positive.

1987-D Kennedy in a roll I searched from the bank. From what I understand, 1987 ones were not released officially for circulation.

You understand correctly. The 1987 and 1987-D Kennedy half dollars were only issued in mint and souvenir sets.

So are these roll hunting finds? Or just straight from the teller tray?

I go through a few boxes a week and have been having some luck.
The other day I go to the bank and one teller tells the other to ask if I would be interested in the silver halves. Duh. I am like no doubt I will pay you for the silver. They wouldn't take it an insisted I pay 50 cents each. 7 1964 BU and 5 1965 BU. I could see them shining from across the room. It was a good day..

When I was a teenager, I received two full rolls of 90% and 40% silver Kennedy half dollars. Silver was worth a lot less 10-15 years ago.

Oh yeah, more recently, I was able to get a Franklin half and an Ike from the teller tray. I was in the bank making a deposit and I noticed silver in the tray and could tell it was a Franklin. I tried to act normal and asked if I could buy the half dollars he had sitting in the tray - he counted it up and said there were $6.00 worth. He aslo stated there was 1 Ike. I said I'd take that too. I gave him $10 and he said, "ok so you get $3.50 back for change". I noticed he moved the Franklin aside and was going to hand me everything else. At this point I mentioned that I thought I saw a Franklin and that was the one I really wanted. He picked it up and said, "oh yeah, I guess that is Franklin" and handed it over. Great to get silver for face value, doesn't happen very often and almost didn't. On a similar not, I was riding with a friend in his car and decided to look through his change. There was a silver Roosevelt sitting right on top, which I took and bought my friend a coffee for. That's the only time I've ever found silver outside of a bank.

A bank near my house claims to be able to order rolls of ATB Quarters so I've been getting a roll of the D mint a couple of weeks after they're released. Makes it nice to get them at face!

I would say my prise bank find was a 1863 s Seated half dollar, heavily worn and also accompanied by several other 90% halves.

5 nickel rolls yesterday yielded me a 1955-s, and a 44-P War Nickel. First War Nickel in very sporadic nickel roll hunting.
