I am hoping some members might have some update to any Dansco Albums.

I am not even sure if I know all the ones that might need updates.

I know I would like to have more information on the 7070 type set album.

Also the Kennedy W/proof issue album, I think mine stops at 2012D.
I am sure I can not add another page to this album. My guess Dansco
is worried the mint might change the half dollar, or put out a commemorative half for Kennedy, and not want to put out a product that has a good chance of being something ...incorrect.

On the Sacagawea dollar W/proofs album. I just added a page this year. Does anyone know if a new purchased Sac album is in a bigger binder and what year it goes to. I really like how this album looks, and would not mind doing a second one.

Parks ( ATB) quarters .. will they add the "S" mint business strikes?
I am thinking of starting a date set album for just them. Not sure what I would put in the holes for the 2010 and 2011 quarters .. maybe clad proofs for one year and silver proofs for the other.

American Silver Eagle (bullion coins) I had to add a page to this album, when I do this I wonder if buying a new album, will it have a bigger binder.

I am sure Dansco has a lot of problems with the mint always adding new products ....

I guess I am just hoping someone has some new information

Dont hold your breath on the 7070. 7070 is probably the year their update will come out.

The ATB ones the mint seems to be going year by year for the S mints so I would guess unless the mint says were doing them the rest of the series you wont see an update for that for decades. They wont release an update every year, maybe some pages here and there but even that would mess up the rest of the album unless you just assembled one as they came out

The new Eagle date set albums go through 2021.

The updated sacs with proofs goes through 2015.

Rest in Peace

I called a Dansco vendor that the Kennedy album will be split up or starting a new album because the current one is getting too heavy. I think the current one could add another blank page but I guess nothing is coming from Dansco at the moment. I don't think Dansco likes making albums into the future unless its already set up like ATB Quarters with set dates already in place. I think ill have to make my own pages. I wish I could add my own dates like Dansco does on blank pages.

Mine is already split into two four-page albums (the second one using blank half dollar pages). I could not imagine having all eight filled pages in one album. That would be heavy, Doc.

I think Dansco needs some SERIOUS competition to get them moving.

Ive heard from a few dealers that who ever owns them has moved onto other interests so while he hasnt killed Dansco its not really at the top of his priority list. I dunno how true it is but considering the 7070 feet dragging it would make sense

That would really be too bad to throw away such a successfully branded name and product like that

I read somewhere that the owner of Dansco passed away and his kids got the biz and they have no interest in it at all.

Sounds like Just Carl may be onto something with his Whitman albums.

I think Coin Albums is only a small part of their business. They also do corporate binders for annual/quarterly reports, trade show binders. While collectors may buy a few different albums, I have Libertad, ASE and Britannia (blank album), all my quarter ,dime, nickel and penny albums are Whitman it is not like I am going to buy more albums once they are full.

But nicely embossed faux leather corporate quarterly reports would be a big time repeat money maker. They are only a small company I would imagine they concentrate where the money is.

It is heavy .. mine is 8 pages and complete. I think it is Dansco's biggest binder 1 1/4 inch. IMO .. I think it would not lay flat with another page.

I have heard the talk, Dansco would make it a two album set.
I am just not sure where where a good place to make the split.

They did split the Jefferson nickel set .. and I did not like how they did it. If you purchase the replacement page (Jefferson album one) then there is a lot of empty holes. Then the second (new) Jefferson album comes with one page with dates and one blank page, and MSRP is something like $23.95 .. not a good deal.

I did buy the new page that goes to 2015. When I added that page, I feel I would not want to add another page to that binder. So I wonder if the new album, that runs to 2015 has the next size binder .. of did they just add the
page.

As for the 7070 .. I have thought a lot about what they might add, and how they might change each page. They could go to the 1 1/4 binder, so could have 7 pages, plus room to add the gold page .. for 8 total pages.

I would like to see ..
4 commemorative dollars to go with the four commemorative half dollars.
ATB Quarter
Presidential dollar
Matte proof half dollar
Matte proof nickel
westward journey nickel
Native American dollar .. with the Sacagawea dollar

plus
large size Bust quarter
and a no stars Seated dime

I am sure the lay out for any changes is giving them problems

Prediction: Whitman (formerly known as H. E. Harris Company) will buy Dansco.

When H. E. Harris bought Whitman, it changed its name to Whitman. If I am correct about the future purchase, then maybe Whitman will take the Dansco name.

Just kidding. No one would want to by a Dansco Red Book.
