Works for me, lot of character in that one. Couldn't venture a guess other than AU-MS FH

No idea on a grade but that is a lovely eagle. I would love to find a way to remove that black crud without damaging the coin though.

I should add, the reverse is fully lustrous. The obverse strike is the best in my set so far. Should this coin be dipped?

Don't dip this one. The toning is what makes this coin truly stand apart from the crowd. I like it at MS63FH. Imagine this is a stunning coin in hand.

Quote: Should this coin be dipped? Oh heck no! Leave her just the way it is. Any attempt will only make this one worse. JMHO

I tend to agree. Although I like my coins pristine and not covered in crud I wouldn't risk dipping this coin. If something went wrong how could you forgive yourself. I just WISH there was something that cleaned coins without damaging the coin, removing the luster or in any other way affecting the coin's status.

I see only two marks on the obv and one on the rev. Must be around MS64FH. What are the two raised bumps at 9:30 rev in the field near wing. Clash remnant from IN GOD? nlp

As the old song says, "don't go changing just to please me", we love it just the way it is!

MS64FH could be downgraded to a MS63FH but either grade this is a nice piece, quite original looking. If AU it's still a FH designation, this is a coin series that can be very tough to grade from a photo only, the rub spots can disappear with the lighting angle.

What a gorgeous quarter! Dipped it would become 'just another high grade coin' with not much distinction other than a slab number.

MS-63, but as others have noted it is hard to tell with this series if there is any wear on the coin. I don't think so, but if there is it would be AU-58.
