Did someone crack a safe? That's a huge loss.
I hope it gets recovered and these criminals serve serious time.

According to ABC affiliate KVUE a woman was arrested today regarding the coin theft in Fayette County. Maybe the authorities will recover the coins soon.

Quote: Hopefully she will cooperate with the recovery. I hope so too. Generally, when a theif cooperates with the recovery of stolen items a lesser sentance is imposed. The problem is, usually the items aren't valued in excess of a million dollars. She could have buried the coins & $1,000,000+ may be worth setting in jail 15-20 years to some people. If she cooperates...she's likely to still get 5 years. A $50,000 bond is ridiculously low for this crime, especially if unrecovered items that are easily liquidated are still our there. If she has an accomplice this money could be easily raised & unfortunately there's a very real chance she will flee the country. If the accomplice (presumably) knows she's been apprehended & has access to said items, he/she is probably already on the run. No honor amongst thieves.

This is a fantastic example of a phrase I once heard "loose lips sink ships"...
This robbery was NOT by chance but targeted! If people know there's something of value to steal in your house you have TWO problems! 1) YOU aren't secure if people know you have valuable assets 2) you have now become a target
Perhaps it's just because in my younger years I have had some nefarious friends and aquaintences.... but if you planned to rob a house with 1 million in coins, would you not already have in place a plan to move said product and a bug out plan in place?
Just saying... I doubt this was anyone's first rodeo.. if more than 24 hrs have passed, there's a good chance the coins have already been cracked out and sold.

If I were the judge, she had better have sung like a bird. If these coins were cracked out, they are probably all over the US by now as to not be confined locally. There are likely more accomplices.
