This is a great-looking coin, but is this natural toning and do you think it will slab? *** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Titles are important! ***

It looks very nice to me. I would keep it free, but I think you prefer certified coins.
How does the reverse look?

Well, don't ask me, I prefer my coins raw. I need to have them actually in my hand to really appreciate them.
Anyway, in order for any of us to really form an honest opinion, we will need to view reverse photos.

Don't have a pic of the reverse, but it is essentially the same, with this unusual green/gold toning, though more gold.

Will probably slab, but there is always the risk of the dreaded details. ANACS is having a free grading special now. Maybe you could try them and then cross it over if it's worth it.

It's a curious-looking piece for sure. Can't remember seeing this kind of toning before. But I wouldn't want it in an ANACS holder one way or another.

It may come back 'questionable color'. Seems like they love to throw those on toned Indian cents.

It's always a coin toss with the TPGs as to color and toning, if it comes back questionable toning crack it out and send it in again, eventually it would probably end up in a holder with out any issues, or better yet (I know the TPGs deny this but...) submit through a larger volume dealer that does a lot of business with them and your chances will be better.

It looks fine to me, I think it would grade problem free.

Whether it would come back as natural or AT I cannot say, but personally I like the look of the coin.

Answer next week!
PS - edweather: The connotation of an ANACS slab is not very good in my opinion. Their grading standards have wandered all over the place in the last 20 years. Many auction houses will not take them. And Rick Snow, for example, will not affix a Photo Seal to them. The general perception of many collectors, in my experience, is that ANACS slabs are a cut below PCGS and NGC.
