Won on a last minute bid. Believe it or not, this is my first-ever GSA CC purchase. All my other CC coins have been non-GSA's. I'm at MS62 or MS63 on this coin, can't decide. Help me out? (Seller pics, obviously.) It's in the original black box, with card, etc. No certification. EDIT: Appears to be a VAM-4 Spiked Date. Can Dave or anyone confirm? Thank you. I'm at 62. edit to add - I can help you out with the VAM as well unless you want to research it yourself.

Dave, I think she's a VAM 4. I edited my original post. It doesn't seem to have the pinned wing gouge or "TE" of STATES die gouge of a 4A or 4B, and the reverse die cracks look correct for a VAM 4.

Might go as high as 63. A little cheeky, but the fields and luster are nice.

I'd say MS-62 for this one.

62, it would need booming luster to hit 63 with that cheek. It looks like a typical GSA S$1 which is not bad because they can be really beat up.

Nice pickup, I love thsee GSA dollars. I'm thinking about bidding on some unopened GSA dollars on ebay. I'm sure they would be the common dates but imagine getting a rare date...that would be nuts!!

I think it could make MS-63.

MS62. Too much action on the cheek/face and not enough luster for 63 given those limitations.

MS62 for me too, the reverse is certainly the strong side, but the TPGs will give much more weight to the obverse when grading.
