Hey guys, I know it's a little late to be posting this, but I just wanted to share with you some numismatic goals I have for this year. -Find at least half of the uncommon block letters (mostly on 1995 and 1988A bills) Currently I have A-M (just picked up yesterday) B-Y, D-I, G-Y and I'm hoping to find more of the letters only seen on these older 1 dollar bills. -Find some silver half dollars (I know this sounds like a piece of cake to most of you, but my banks won't order me half dollars and I have limited mobility and money due to being in high school but eventually I'll hopefully have my driver's license by April) -Complete the silver Roosevelt dime DATE set (just get one silver dime from every year, MM doesn't matter, this actually seems possible due to my pharmacy job and the silver dimes I've been finding in Coinstar lately) -Find a Mercury dime in circulation or in a coin roll -Get a dollar bill with a unique serial number (radar, repeater, anything that's rare but possible with effort unlike solid numbers or ladders, that would be like winning the dollar bill lottery) I was wondering what your opinion is, and if you think any of these are possible to complete.

You should have a great shot at many of these goals you have set. Collectors who take the time to set goals are those that are most likely to complete them. About the only one I see as near impossible is finding a Mercury dime in circulation. You might luck in to someone turning in their grandpa's collection, but that doesn't happen too often. Best of luck on your ventures. They all sound like a lot of fun.

Okay, since I'm more than old enough to be your grandmother I feel the urge to express some concern over the use of "Bucket List" after which you post that you hope to get your drivers license. I hope you find everything you want this next year. Don't be discouraged if you don't. If you are hoping to find all those things rather than buy them, it might just be a matter of luck whether or not you get them. I do agree with moxking, though. Having listed the goals will keep you focussed. Good luck and happy hunting.

I could use a few buckets. (Experimenting with container gardening.)

Yes, "bucket list" is probably not the best choice of words here.... heh Regardless, good luck with your... goals.

Some of these are readily attainable, but some may not be. 1. Work on my Ancient Chinese collection 2. Work on my US type set at as minimal of a cost as possible. 3. Write an article for my Coin Club's newsletter. 4. Write a paper for the ANA YN authors competition. 5. Make an exhibit at a major (relatively) show. 6. Write an article for a major numismatic publication. 7. Buy a 1927 Australian Florin 8. Buy an 1896 Educational note. 9. Cherrypick as many major valuable varieties as possoble to resell (1919 DDO 10¢!)

Nice goals, TypeCoin! Especially (IMO) 4, 6 and 8! FYI There are at least two other threads out there for 2016 goals. Here and here.

Just so you guys know, CC110 is referring to the 2016 year kicking the bucket, not us.

My only goal is to obtain one graded, slabbed coin. Preferably a Barber but any one will do. I don't even care about grade really.
