Franklin halves, bought a handful in the $40-$50 range. Generally pleased with them -- nice luster, reasonably clear lines.

Just under $50.
It's a Japanese Occupation of China in the 1933-45 time period (I don't remember what the particular year was for my coin).

Mine was a Seated dollar at just over $100. Before you yell at me, it had a hole.

Hard to remember all the coins I may have spent over $50 ... Or over $100.

I did vote over $100. I know I have bought 2 or 3 GSA Morgan's for over
$200 each.

And yes I am happy with them.

Most expensive:

1837 Reeded Edge Half Dollar - $180
1926-S Lincoln Cent - $199

Happy with both...

Never bought on ebay,
but
My avatar.

It came from Spink's in London, in 1978, when I paid 325 Pounds for it. Still have the invoice and polaroids to prove provenance.
Probably valued quite a bit higher now.

Mine was a key date Peace dollar 1934S for $300. It turned out OK, as it graded AU55. The same ebay dealer gave me a lesson on another raw coin that was noted as being a MS++++ high grade Peace dollar that graded AU58.

In 2010 I paid $1308 for a raw 1855-C half eagle. The seller had good feedback and offered a money-back guarantee and my purchase was protected by PayPal. The coin subsequently graded problem-free PCGS XF-45 so I definitely got a good deal.

My avatar coin..

It is a 2003D quadstruck LMC, with all 4 strikes die struck & think I paid around $450 back in late 2003..

Knowing post 2002 multi-struck errors were almost non-existent, I jumped on it when first listed..

Back then Bidders could track other Bidders items they were bidding on.. I was tracking Fred Weinberg's Bid Page & received it one bid above his..

Prior to this, I purchased a 1998 quadstruck LMC in a PCGS MS65 holder from Fred, and the 2003D looks nicer..

I won a 1940 10 reichspfennig with a hole in the middle from the Third German Reich on ebay for $40 and $9.99 shipping.

It was one of the surrogate coins they made temporarily so they could conserve certain metals for the war effort. The cheapest I've found other than that is $65.95 without shipping, and it goes higher from there.

It came in the mail today

I paid a few hundred dollars for this coin raw off ebay a few years ago:

What-Is-The-Most-Expensive-Raw-Coin-You-Have-Bought-On-Ebay? What-Is-The-Most-Expensive-Raw-Coin-You-Have-Bought-On-Ebay?

I could have purchased a certified example for more money, but I really wanted one that I could stick into my 7070 album (and I'm not into cracking coins out of holders). The seller's pictures made me think it might actually be a proof (although he didn't claim that it was):

What-Is-The-Most-Expensive-Raw-Coin-You-Have-Bought-On-Ebay? What-Is-The-Most-Expensive-Raw-Coin-You-Have-Bought-On-Ebay?

So, yeah, I got a little greedy thinking I might be getting the deal of the century. But I'm happy with the coin even though it isn't a proof. Probably wouldn't do it again, though.

[And yes, I too have spent more money on raw currency than raw coins on ebay.]

I would have looked at the mintmark and told you it wasn't a proof.
