This Mercury dime is being sold for $13 plus shipping. Is it real and what is it worth?

I am not an error expert, but the fact that part of the date and motto are missing would tend to concern me. However, this could be due to wear from circulation before this was found and kept.

However, the letters in the motto don't seem to match a genuine coin, and more importantly, the 1 in the date is missing the serif of a genuine coin, and it appears the last two digits of the date are too low. But, it is a poor photograph.

If the price of $13 is a buy it now, that is WAY below market. Was this on ebay? You didn't mention a seller name or ebay item number.

This coin was found on the Mercari app. It's an app where anybody can sell anything and ship it. It's pretty cool and it has quite a number of coins for sale.

From the conversation on Mercari...

Q: Is it bent?
A: no there is no bend it's straight but it's not perfectly circular neither maybe a partial collar strike and the edges aren't reeded I really whether it's from bekng worn I dunno.

Price reduced to $10.

I'm not gonna bother possibly wasting my money. He said the sides weren't reeded and I doubt that coin would circulated to that point. Someone would've picked it right out of circulation very quickly.

I don't think an off center strike should have reeding.

OCs are struck without the collar in place. No collar= no reeding.
