Hello, to anyone with some experience that can assist. Please tell me what type of errors these are on the Reverse of my Coin, and how common they are. Also I noticed the face of this coin is nice gold color and the Reverse is Red. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Those are called die chips. Pieces of the die chip off over time from being over used and fatigued. They are pretty common on LC's from the 50's.

These die chips do not lower the grade of the coin. If you were to send it off to be graded it would have no affect as far as grade. But there would be no need to have your coin graded because it would cost probably more than the coin would be worth. While the coin is a BU coin, they value is low because that was the last year they made the 'S' mint before the closure of the mint. Many knew of this and hoarded rolls of BU coins. So a BU example is easy to find.

Still a nice looking coin, the die chip makes it interesting.

Nice looking coin! Note that die chips/dulled devices are associated with regular die wear, so they are not a processing error (expected vs. unexpected). As noted by coop, your coin is probably worth around $3 (estimating MS65), so getting it graded would cost more than it is worth. As for the varied coloring, it may be that your subject coin was left exposed on one side for a period. Still a BU coin; full luster.

Good eye Dustin, I see it. Johnson, can you post a close-up of Lincoln's head? It seems to have a Die Crack running into it from the rim. That would make it a collectable. Maybe two cracks. and

I think the "Spike" is a contact mark. A nice looking coin.

Looks like a die crack on the shoulder and one by the 'O' on one on the reverse. Die chip on the 'T' on cent. A broken post on the 'B' on PLURIBUS.
