So about a year ago I inherited sarcastically 20,000 pounds of various coins. I have been slowly working through it, seperating, organizing, putting some in books, some in 2x2's and learning all I can. I am building a set for me, a set for/with my teenage son and a backup set. The most numerous of this inheritance is the lincoln cents 1959-1970. I have already scoured them for crazy noticable errors and specifically for the 55dd and pulled what I found. Here is the crux: I am hard up for space and money. I can't hang on to roughly $100 face value worth of these cents that do not seem to have any real collector value. However, they have all been sealed in plastic tubes within thick bank boxes for the past 50 years and are all roughly mint condition. And I mean SPARKLY. Do I: A) Toss them in the coinstar and cash them in putting thousands of near mint peices back into circ? B) Try to peice them out by the roll on ebay and see if I can get a premium? C) Something other....? Thanks community!

to CCF BiggDaddE! For starters, pictures always help us determine the best course of action. Plus we just like ing over your collection. There are some folks here that are experts on cents and should be able to offer some good advice for you.

to CCF! Pictures are always helpful. BU rolls always bring a premium, so don't put them in a coinstar. Also, if they are original bank wrapped rolls, don't open them.

I'd love to see what 20,000 lbs of pennies looks like.

Do not throw them into coin star or the bank . from what you are describing they are BU rolls of various dates . there are many collectors like me who are into BU rolls of Lincolns . BTW , To CCF .

Sounds like a great work in progress.
As has been mentioned, photos would really help us give you more informed recommendations.

If you are willing to accept face value, please consider finding a local coin club or coin show and selling them for face value to a collector or a dealer so that the coins will stay in AU and BU condition.
Once you dump them they will never be the same.
