Fixing some holes...

1938-D is a semi-key or "minor" key date.

VG-10, but there appears to be a number of easily seen pits, especially on the obverse.

Not that it matters with a VG, it's not like you're going to slab it.

Thanks for the support. You guys encourage me to keep going!

Dansco only has 13 holes left. The goal is complete set without spending more than $20 on any coin except for the 1916-S, 1921, 1921-D, and 1938-D. So far, so good. In fact, many of them have been less than $15, and some less than $10. This one went for $34 which I considered to be a decent deal given book value.

I need to buy the 1916-S, 1921, and 1921-D, but it's hard finding problem free circulated examples that aren't in slabs and haven't been cleaned/dipped. I could just buy the missing holes, but I like to look for coins that match the others in tone and grade and appearance when possible, and I prefer auctions to BIN's, so sometimes it's a patience game.
