Hi everyone, I just rescued this 1912 quarter from a melt bucket today.
However, I'm not 100% sure as to the grade. Would you say (US) fine or very fine? Thanks!

F15 details.
Amazing what people consider scrap around the world. Always surprised at what turns up in junk bins and melt buckets in other countries.

Alan & SHAFTA9a & AgHoarder - thanks for the input! I'm still a bit on the fence since you guys are still a bit across the board in terms of F to VF. :-)

AgHoarder - Yeah! I'm just amazed at what I've found in my local dealers' buckets over the past couple of decades. I'm still kicking myself for a few coins I've seen but did not pick up out of ignorance (at the time) of their scarcity. (In fact, just a couple of months ago I didn't grab a Canadian 1932 Half Dollar in VG)

A little too much wear for VF20.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

So we are presently tied: 3 at F15 & 3 at VF20. Will the tie be broken?

Tough one, F15 net. Sort of a VF20 slider, but those scratches. 105 year old coin book value upwards of $25 US, seems like a good rescue to me!

@kbbpll and @coinfrog
Net grading is an Americanism
Canadian coins are traditionally graded by technical grade only, net grade, market grade and factoring in eye appeal are all US traditions being forced down our throat by US interests.
Also grades such as VF25 and 35 are not used in the Canadian grading scale
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
