Hello there! I have had this coin: HU-PEH PROVINCE 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS for some time, but never got around to finding out if it was real or not, so I would really appreciate it if I could get some feedback! I have checked a few places online, and from what I have seen and read, It seems authentic. The weight of the coin is 26.73 grams. It also DOESN'T stick to a magnet. Here are a few pictures: Once again, I would like to know if this coin is authentic or not, so I would really appreciate some input! Thanks

First, welcome to CCF. Second, larger pics would be useful.

Is it possible that the beaded ring was just worn from use?
Or would the ring hold up better.

Not liking the look of it. I am not very familiar with this particular coin, but it has the classic fake look to me.

Thanks for posting the coin. The coin does have an appearance of intentional aging where counterfeiters would try to do. It might help to know how you acquired the coin.

The writing of Hu pie Provence is wrong style lettering, if you drop it it won't sound like a silver coin, kinda goes "thunk"!

Weight is within tolerance level. Can you please post a photo of the edge?

Yes these are better pics. The incomplete letters are a danger sign for me.

I recommend everyone to not collect these unless you get them for silver value. I assume they are all fake. This one does not look right, but what do I know. I have not studied these.

My grandpa owned this coin before me, he had a coin collection from his family. I believe his uncle, or brother and mother gave him some of his coins, and my grandpa game me the 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS... So this coin was in his collection. Also, when I drop it, it does make kind of a ringing sound.

Something else to note, either this coin was counterfeited to look used up and somewhat market up, but it could also be from usage... If it was counterfeited, nobody knew because it looks pretty worn from use with some scratches and dirt buildup... Anyways, I'm just hoping that there is a possibility that the coin is real. Thanks for all of the input so far!

One standard item whenever anyone wants to know if it sticks to a magnet is this: Suspend one or two N52 Neodymium magnets from a string or rubber band. Approach the magnets slowly with the coin. Does it grab? If no then does the coin repel or push the magnet away? If yes then it could be silver. But if no then it is likely some sort of pot metal. The ice test is worth doing while you wait for the magnets to arrive. There is mention about incomplete letters. I'm pretty sure there are genuine coins that do have gaps in the letters and numerals.
