When I was younger I liked Mad Magazine. I still have them all, and was looking at the October, 1975 issue and found this cartoon, part of a feature that re-writes Mother Goose rhymes.

Copper cents were 2X's face value in copper in 1975? In 75' my interest in coin collecting was replaced with interest in cars and girls, Both of which cost me money and not very good investments but tons of fun -

No, I don't have all issues of Mad Magazine, I just have all the ones I bought as a youngster. I have maybe 40 issues.

I used to love "Mad" (still do, really). Crazy, zany humor and art. Loved those "fold over" centerfolds and, of course, "Spy vs. Spy".

Good ol' days...

In 1975 I had already graduated from SJSU, single, and drove a 1973 black on black Satellite Sebring Plus and I had a nice collection of silver coins that I had pulled from circulation. Life was good in 1975, then I got married a couple of years later and life got complicated.

Wife and kids, yeah very complicated always have to be diplomatic between wife and kids.....
Example
Wife "tell Jason to get dressed we are late"
Son " but dad you said I can stay in bed for 10 more minutes"
Me " you can stay in bed a bit longer but get up please"
Not easy being a dad in the middle lol
But nothing better than being a father and husband

Awww, man I wish I had held onto all my Mad Magazines from the 70's - I think they got pitched along with the Richie Rich comics although there's a chance they are still buried somewhere in my mom and dad's basement. At least I saved my baseball and football cards...

Wow that's cool! Even in 1975 people realized that pennies were not worth the cost with inflation...
