It looks like a DDR.

Here is a close of the place of question. Notice what appears to be a notch on the right side of the "G".

Photos have been digitally enhanced to show the error better.
Any ideas on whether or not this is an error?

An honest question, do you check the major resources before posting you coins? Why I ask the major sources show no DDR 1973D... therefore chances are that this is PMD, or MD, or DDD, not a hub doubled doubled error. All I can tell, is appears damaged or die wear?

And that is the exact reason that I posted this here, isn't it why ANYONE post on these forums?

Very difficult to say for sure from the photos, but I think I see a die chip on the "G"

I don't see it and the device appears to be the normal size.

If the picture was less pixelated it would be easier to tell.

Also remember though that the major sources know they do not have complete lists. It was only about 2.5 years ago a major DDO 1919 Mercury was discovered. I know I have found unlisted, minor DDOs and a couple RPMs that I kept and later, as the major sources were updated, these finds were verified by others who sent theirs in.

My first was a 1972 DDO half of an unknown kind. I posted it here to CCF and was told I should send it in. But I was not interested in paying the money. In a year or so a "new listing" appeared that was exactly like mine.

You have to start somewhere.
